College Sports Madness has begun their annual preseason top 144 previews and they have Wofford at 125 and Sam Houston State at 123. Belmont is #111 on their list.
Wofford has their top eight in minutes played returning from last year's 20-13 team.
Sam Houston State has 4 starters back who started all 35 games in their 24-11 season.
We'll be facing Wofford and Sam Houston State (and South Dakota) at WBA in November as part of the Coaches vs Cancer Classic, according to a Chris Elsberry ctpost.com article in June.
BTW, CSM has Siena at 121 and predicts they'll finish second in the MAAC..
Our schedule will not be easy..... a lot of teams that I would consider top 5 in the MAAC. We have a lot of games at home, and that should make it somewhat easier. The MAAC will be middle heavy this year..... meaning there is not a clear-cut dominate team (except for maybe Iona)..... a lot of MAAC teams will finish 10-10 in the league and 15-15 overall.
Iona board has Iona playing at Wofford on 11/18 at 7am as part of the espn tip-off marathon. We'll be playing Wofford that weekend at WBA, so we'll have one common opponent with a top tier MAAC team one week into the season. Last year Iona beat Wofford by 21 in New Rochelle and Wofford lost their NCAA game with Michigan by 17. And just like us Wofford will be playing at Duke this year.
The Duke message board has Duke also opening their season on November 14th, playing Presbyterian at home. So both Duke and us will have played 2 games 2 days into the season --- the difference being that both of Duke's games will be at home while we have a plane flight in between CCSU and Duke.
Northeastern’s pre-season Rank is at 93. We beat them at home last year without their best player (Ford). He returns and we have them on the Road, so it will be tougher, But I don't see them with a 93 ranking Here are others that are ranked
93 – Northeastern 107 – Iona 111 – Belmont 121 – Siena 123 - Sam Houston State 125 - Wofford
Others that could make this list are Duke, Albany and Bucknell

Albany and Bucknell won't make CSM's top 144. They've already listed American at #101 and projected them as finishing 1st in the Patriot (they also have Holy Cross at #141 as coming in 2nd in the Patriot). Stony Brook is listed at #135 and projected as being 1st in the America East this year.
