I can see Kirkland being a Darrren Phillip type. Like Darren was as a Frosh and Soph...... not necessarily like his junior or senior seasons.

Kirkland, a New Jersey native who moved to Ocala, FL the summer before his freshman year at West Port, has been at Fairfield since June 30 working out with his new teammates.
"It's a really good community up here," said Kirkland, who committed to the school during a visit in April. "I have a lot of respect for the coaching staff and my teammates already. We've been practicing hard and have good chemistry. We're going to have a good year.".....

Really really important that Kirkland and Degnan along with an improved Coleman Johnson supply the efficiency as a group that the departed Mo exhibited last year at that forward position. That might be hard to do, at least in the initial stages. On the other hand if our new guards coming in are any good at all I would think that the improvement in the backcourt (most notably 2 guard) would and should be dramatic based upon production from this past season. Can't wait to see what we have in these new players and how they fit in. But I do like the attitude of Mike in this article, especially in his talk about team goals. But of course talk is just that, talk, so I hope his optimism proves to be prophetic when the season starts to play out.
