Not good news, midway through the second period Tommy playing point guard drove through the lane, got fouled as he threw up his shot, then landed sideways on his left foot. He was on the floor writhing in pain for quite a while before they eventually carried him off to the locker room for ice, then at halftime had to take him most likely to the hospital for xrays. Having been through that before he could be out a minimum of 4-6 weeks depending on what might be broken or torn in his ankle, which in effect could be season ending for him. I hope that it isn't too bad, wish him well. At the time of his injury he had scored 9 points on two 3's, had 3 assists and 2 rebounds as Prep led 30-20. They went on to win 82-45 with JV's and Freshmen getting a lot of time in the second half.

Heard that injury may not be quite as bad as first reported. Maybe 2-3 weeks. If true that would certainly give him enough time to be ready for the league and state tournaments.
The Post article today says that he will be out indefinitely and there's no time table for Tommy to return. Apparantly he still has not had an MRI, but they think that it might just be a bad sprain. I'd say that if he gets back for the CIAC playoffs that would be great! Prep has already been short handed with a torn ACL injury to their point guard.

While returning for the CIAC playoffs would be nice, fact is a couple of weeks earlier (maybe final week regular season and league tournament) is extremely important for him in order to get his timing and endurance back IMO. And you're right stagal, also not having Featherston available certainly leaves them very thin at guard right now. And I'm not sure if they expect him back at all.

Ray Featherston had surgery Monday to repair his torn ACL. He will be out for the rest of his senior season. If you are interested here is a link to his junior year Prep and AAU highlight video. Wish Tommy Nolan a speedy recovery and I look forward to rooting him on in the years to come as a Stag! www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BksOFg26eI
Nolan will likely be on crutches for a few weeks, then a boot. If he is able to even walk on it much before early March I'd be very surprised... Not sure when the league and CIAC playoffs begin. Ray Featherston is a very good point guard, hope he heals up quickly too!

The Register article on the Hillhouse game seems to imply 3-4 weeks.
Redgate said there is no timetable for Nolan’s return.
“I think Tommy won’t come back until he is ready to come back,” he said. “If we take our lumps in the next three or four weeks because we don’t have him, then so be it. I’m good with that.”
