CSM is picking Princeton for 2nd place in the Ivy:
...Yale got close last year, but once again it was the Harvard Crimson escaping with the NCAA bid for the Ivy League. With Yale presumably taking a step back, it’s going to be Princeton’s turn to give the mighty Crimson a run for their money...
Not really sure why CSM is thinking Yale will be taking a step back. I don't think Yale's coach is expecting them to fall back with an OOC schedule which includes road games with Duke and SMU. I would think you'd schedule difficult OOC games if you believed your team needed some tough competition to make a run for the league title or if you needed guarantee money for your program. I don't think Yale is overly concerned about being profitable with men's basketball.
The Griffs seem to have lost a lot of talent to graduation/transfer. This pick seems like a bit of a stretch to me.
I agree Va., this does seem like a stretch, especially since they had their leading scorer Zach Lewis transfer out. I do see however that the writer does place a great deal of importance on their 5th year (transfer in) PG from Central Connecticut, Malcolm McMillan. IMO he would have been a PERFECT fit for the Stags when I found out he was transferring out about 3 months ago, something I expressed in a post at that time. I wish of course (in retrospect) that we had been on the case at that time. But I will be interested for sure in how he performs at his position this season, especially if we are not getting the performance we need in this area.
Go get grennan again . I Hear he is playing in different leagues and looking to play 5th year. He has been working out with 4 different div 1 teams .. that would be interesting to see if he plays..A good kid like Davis .both got rotten deals with sid.
You might have a point .but with grennan until belmont game . and monmouth . he was leading 3 point shooter . and best free throw shooter on team. And least amount of turnover.
Don't agree . Grennan never was, able to let loose most of the guys that were thrown out played scared .Sydney never let guys play thru it. It will happen again this year same spots on this cat. Nothing much will change for this next group . You need a head coach not a head case.
Kinda of agree with you . you get a chance you have to make best of it .I heard many things .a good kid never a problem until he asked to change offense .but I heard it was done respectfully . any way I have heard he is playing again. All D 1 conferences teams . maybe he can turn it,around Robert Morris, was looking and,Delaware. And Pepperdine . maybe he can prove us,all wrong . maybe not . good luck to him.
CSM is down to #65 on their top 144 preview and Iona is still not listed meaning they will come in as one of the 64 best teams this preseason, according to CSM. 2 teams listed in the high 60's and 70's range are UConn (predicted for 5th in the AAC) and Providence (picked for 7th in the Big East).
