The #1 seeded Stags (27-5)(18-0) are one win away from their 9th NCAA Volleyball Tournament bid and their fourth bid in the last 5 seasons (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2012, 2013, 2015) as they meet #3 seed Quinnipiac (21-12)( 11-7) at 2:00 pm this afternoon in Alumni Hall. During the MAAC Regular Season the Stags beat Quinnipiac (3-1) last Saturday in Alumni Hall and (3-0) at Quinnipiac in early October. Fairfield’s 3-1 win over Siena on Saturday extended the nation’s longest active winning streak to 21 matches. The current run ties the second-longest streak in program history set during the 2000 season. The program record is a 27-match run by Todd Kress’ 1998 squad en route to the MAAC Championship. Looks like another great crowd in Alumni Hall on ESPN3.
Stags (2-0) need just more set win for their 9th NCAA bid.

What a dominating performance by the Stags. I think the only time QU had a lead in a set, they held it for 10 seconds. Todd Kress is a wonderful coach. We have had a lot of good Vball teams, but under Todd Kress, we have a great record of turning good teams into Championship Teams
Congrats to the Vball team…… very exciting.

It was the first of Todd Kress’s four MAAC Championships that Fairfield won on the Stags’ home court. “We are thankful for the support of the fans that came out to cheer for us yesterday and today,” said Kress. “The students, student-athletes, coaches, faculty and staff made us all very proud to be a part of the Fairfield University community.”The NCAA Volleyball selection show airs on Sunday, November 27 at 9:00 p.m. on ESPNU.
