WOWZA!!! Stacey Davis (@nychoopsnball) tweeted at 8:15 PM on Tue, May 29, 2018: Mustapha Heron father Bryan Heron says his son has not chosen a school yet, “ He’s definitely will stay to close to home, but haven’t decided yet. Fairfield, UConn, Boston College, St. John’s “ #Rivals 5star @fairfieldstags, @uconnmbb , @bostoncollege , @stjohnsbball t.co/GyJjSGWwIO (
This would obviously be one of the best recruits in program history. Saw that his mother is sick in West Haven and he’s applying for a waiver to play immediately as opposed to sitting out a year.
Well we are at a different level here. Rakim territory or better. A credit that we are even in the discussion at this late date. But why not. Great players are at mid-majors every year and they all end up at whatever professional level fits best.

Hearing Fairfield is a legit player in Mustapha Heron sweepstakes ... close to home factor a plus for Stags.
Auburn’s Mustapha Heron will withdraw from the NBA Draft and transfer to a school closer to his ailing mother who suffered a massive concussion, his father told ZAGSBLOG on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-5 Waterbury, Conn., native was testing the NBA Draft waters without an agent and worked out for the Brooklyn Nets and Cleveland Cavaliers. He has opted to withdraw from the draft but transfer from Auburn in order to be closer to his mother, Thalia Heron, who lives in West Haven, Conn.
“What people don’t know is Mustapha’s mom has been sick for a year,” Bryan Heron said Tuesday by phone. “Being home, he wants to get closer to his mom. He knew he had to go back to school. The last month he’s been here and he wants to be close to his mom, where she can see him play.”
Heron will apply for a hardship waiver to be immediately eligible for the 2018-19 season at his new school.
“He’s going to apply for it, but if he doesn’t get it, it is what it is after that,” Bryan said, adding that Thalia has had 30 doctors appointments and five emergency room visits in the last year. “But he definitely wants to be where he can see his mom on the regular.”

Maybe UConn can't accept him due to no scholarships and he chooses Fairfield because its closest? Will be interesting to see were he ends up regardless
Have to think right now this is a long-shot. But this would be a MASSIVE acquisition; program changer really for any of the teams listed there. 6th leading scorer in the SEC last year as a Sophomore. Heron would dominate the MAAC. 6'5 score first point guard with NBA level talent. Wow.
