Exciting. Give Carly a ton of credit for building off the run to the NCAA’s 2yrs ago (and Lopez’s storied career). Like to think Lopez attention helping us, too… How you build a program! Build a foundation and leap to new heights!

I knew they'd compete in this game. I didn't expect a blowout win. Congrats to Carly and the team on this massive victory.
My favorite stat of the night: 22 assists to 13 turnovers. That is how you win basketball games.
I look forward to getting my first look at the team on Sunday, in New Britain.

The Stags defeated Big Ten member Rutgers 78-54, representing their first-ever win over the Scarlet Knights and their third victory in program history against current teams in the Big Ten.
Eight different Stags got into the scoring column with four student-athletes reaching double figures. Janelle Brown and Emina Selimovic tied for the team lead with 14 points apiece while Kaety L'Amoreaux recorded her first career double-double with 11 points and a team-best 10 rebounds.

Big time win at Rutgers tonight!! Proud is an understatement. Selfless & tough women all around our locker room…only the beginning for this group!
Come run with the stags 🤟🏼🦌
"I'm proud of how our team came to compete," Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "We responded to a lot of things we felt we could do better against Vanderbilt. We paid attention to detail in rebounding and keeping the ball out of the paint. We out-rebounded them so that was a huge step for us. We took care of the basketball, a lot of things we tried to show intential growth in. We had a lot of people step up through the course of the game."
"It solidifies what we know this team can be," Coach Thibaut-DuDonis said. "We know this team can be really special but we know we have to keep getting better. There is a million things we know we can continue to improve on but we know the sky is the limit for this team."
Fairfield (3-1) will be back in action on Sunday afternoon when they visit NEC Central Connecticut State (1-4) for their fourth-straight road game. Tip-off is at 1pm.

they didn't even have an overall great night 3P shooting and still won going away. to my eyes it looks like CTD had a plan for how she wanted the team to play... recruited a bunch of (talented) players that fit that style... they've bought in... and now she has the women's embodiment of the "Runnings Stags" that SJ was never quite able to put together for the men.
we'll see how things go, but this does look like it could be a very special season.

Big signature win for Coach CTD and her program while only beginning her second year at the helm. Anyone watching what she is doing cannot help but be impressed and know this team has the potential to do something big this year.

Before last night, the last time a MAAC women’s team won a road game against a current Big Ten school was 1995.
