I like the part at the end where Janelle confirmed... or rather CT confirmed for her... that she'll stay at Fairfield for her final year of eligibility.
Ok, it was a little tongue-in-cheek, but here's hoping!

Ok, it was a little tongue-in-cheek, but here's hoping! Nellie has told me on several occasions that she is never leaving and will definitely be back next year.

The difference between JJ's podcasts and those of Bob & Joe D is the men's discuss and critique game strategy, specific strengths & weaknesses of individual players, etc while JJ gives nothing but offseason camping trips and for the 3rd time, what the players did off the court in Nashville. Every podcast, Bob H asks Casey about Yetna; meanwhile Rubino's season ending injury has still not been mentioned even once. Love Carly and her team as much if not more than anyone; however I get nothing from these podcasts while learning a bunch from the men's.

I really haven’t thought to compare the men’s and women’s podcasts. As far as mentioning Yetna and not mentioning Rubino, from the preseason on, Yetna is expected to play at some point this season while Rubino is out for the entire season, I believe. With Rogan out for the season, I’m not expecting him to be mentioned, except perhaps in passing, in the men’s podcasts. From the latest women’s podcast, I learned that between the 1st and 2nd quarters against Canisius, the coaching staff made it clear to the team that the refs were calling a very tight game and we needed to adjust how we were defending — resulting in reducing the fouls called against us from 10 in the first quarter to 1 in the second quarter. Also, the way the schedule broke — the women had 6 days off for Christmas and Coach Carly mentioned the most she ever had off as a college player was 4. Additionally, a bit of scheduling insight that Stonehill was scheduled because we wanted a less than outstanding opponent after the Christmas break as there was a good chance we’d come out sluggish after the long layoff.
I think both the men’s and women’s podcasts are intended to increase interest in the respective teams. I personally don’t feel a need to compare the podcasts to each other.

"With Rogan out for the season, I’m not expecting him to be mentioned, except perhaps in passing, in the men’s podcasts." Rogan and his injury/surgery have been mentioned on every one of the men's podcasts

Apparently, I didn’t phrase my point very clearly. Let me try again: Now that Rogan has had season ending surgery, I doubt that he will be mentioned at all in future Open Court podcasts. It’s simply a fact that he won’t play again this season, his main concern is rehab and becoming fully healthy for next year.
ctbobs, is your main point that Heussler does a better job with the men’s podcasts than Duke does with the women’s podcasts or that it’s disrespectful to Rubino that her injury has never been mentioned on any podcast?

Totally that Bob & Joe D do a much better job than Duke. Nothing at all to do with Rubino. Only mentioned Mimi as an example of the lack of relevant news that comes from JJ's podcast.

Keep in mind, getting to know and hearing from the players is a part of both podcasts and something I think most enjoy. Along those lines, these podcasts are also part of the overall promotion of the program and periodic update. I don't think they are intended to be hardcore X's and O's breakdowns... but I think there is also plenty of that.

I like the mens portions at times and also enjoy getting to know the girls a bit better, maybe a blend of the 2 would be nice for the women.

I don’t understand criticizing a podcast. Different people, styles and experiences. First JJ Duke is excellent. He covers so many sports for us and is so prepared and engaging. For his podcast, no partnering with a former player/coach. And Bob is a veteran pro in the business for many decades. So of course the men’s and women’s podcasts differ. Also the coaches and AD have a say on where to put the focus. (How much time did the men’s basketball podcast talk about Jay Young leaving. I don’t recall anything.)
Anyway, for years we complained on this board about a lack of communication. Now we have two professional and informative podcasts. Of course they’re different. But both are very good.
