Verbalcommits is showing we made an offer to Dylan Williams, a 5’11” PG at Triton Community College in Illinois on December 9th.
In the 10 games Triton has played, Williams has 63 assists and is hitting over 43% from beyond the arc. I’m a bit confused on how many games Triton has played. The team statistics page lists them at 14-0. Game by game breakdown lists 13 games but on the individual stats page, no player is listed as playing more than 10 games.
Yes, I sat right behind Dylan and his mom at yesterday's game. I asked his mom if he's coming to Fairfield and she said that she's not sure but that so far Fairfield seems to be his favorite. They seemed like a very nice family.

Good overall presentation certainly couldn't hurt the cause.

I could see him getting ushered around by Fairfield staff and then the University President came over to greet him. I was then 100% sure that he was a recruit, so I asked his mom about it.

Just curious- how did you find out it was Dylan?
He also walked out of the tunnel with the team. He was in a purple hoodie.

That's cool that Nemec made the effort to greet him. I would not think it is the norm for a school president to introduce him or herself to a recruit. Granted, I'm not sure how much it meant to Dylan or any other recruit, but it's neat regardless.

For those of you who have posted Nemec is not interested in a successful sports program at FF. I don’t think Father Kelly or Von Arx would do the same.

It is rare that I'm at a Stags athletic event and Nemec is not in attendance.
I don't know if that translates to financial or athletic vision, but he is personally into athletics. And he oftentimes lets the refs know about it too!😎

Dylan has lots of offers from various mid-majors in the Mideast and on the East coast including Siena.
He took an official visit to Siena two weeks ago.
I have heard the family has more concerns about Marciello returning than Casey coming back. Interesting comment and thinking. Things are in disarray in Albany and our facilities and situation seems to be preferred by at least some recruits. We'll see how this plays out.
In my opinion the school needs to be prepared to make a decision on Casey by the start of the MAAC tournament. I'm not saying they need to announce it publicly but they need to have their ducks and their thinking in a row. They face a dilemma like Manhattan did. They may want a higher profile name to lead the program. But if they change horses they risk player defections. If the AD knew Leach, Goodine, Floyd and Smith were committed to return regardless of coach he might move in one direction. If he thinks their return is contingent on keeping Casey he might move in another. If they are all leaving regardless of coach, that might affect his thinking too. Impact on personnel now becomes a factor in any decision.
Unfortunately the transfer portal has forever changed the game. Manhattan seemed to have lost the entire team when they changed coaches. I think they made a mistake. I'd really hate to see us starting all over next season. We have a really good group I would like to see back.
Even if players may want to be back with Casey, I’d expect a few to test the portal just to see what’s out there in terms of bigger programs and more $$, or seek pro opportunities abroad.
