Fairfield needs a center, a legitimate big. And not a 6-1/6-2 MAAC-type center but a 6-4/6-5 Power 5-type center who wants to help a mid-major school build a dynasty and advance to the Sweet 16 and beyond. That's what Fairfield needs. Big is fine but to fit the system needs to be able to play fast and nimble. Understand you are looking beyond the MAAC, but you don't want to change a formula for success. Speed and chemistry are what got this team to 31-1. Certainly a fast and athletic big wouldn't hurt but very hard to find at our level in women's hoops. Just big alone doesn't necessarily fit the program. IMO, size did not hurt us this year. Protecting the ball was the weakest link.

Just big alone doesn't necessarily fit the program. IMO, size did not hurt us this year. Protecting the ball was the weakest link. We were 31-1, I don't think we had too many weak links. If you look statistically, our 3 PG's (Brown, Iza, Katey) had an assist to TO ratio of 319 assists and 239 TO's so a positive ratio of 1.33. Beach, Selimovic, Anderson and Fisher (roadrunners) all had Asst to TO ratios well under 1.0 Our non-point guard guards (Mcgruder, Gallagher) both had ratio's over 1.0 (they were a combined +7 on this stat). You have to remember, for a PG, or anyone, to create easy baskets and opportunities, they have to make turnovers. Our two worst TO games were both against Niagara. We also create a lot of scoring opps in those games. Statistically, our worst team Asst/TO game all year was against the last place team Marist, 7 assists to 23 TO's in that game. That's a .3 assist to TO, not good.
