Nash - I think if KJ was on QU, their bigs numbers would suffer quite a bit. If I can play off him by a couple of feet, I can pack things in and cut angles on entry passes. Packing it in also reduces the need for help defense and probably cuts down on fouls.
so ok, we can agree that KJ's stats and play have improved............the issue and question is.........what about the other dozen or so players on the squad? It takes two to tango and a lot more to play winning basketball!!!!!
KJ is not the only player to improve this year. Mo has obviously made one of the biggest improvements in a senior year, And Marcus has become much more than just a shooter that needs to be open. Now that's only 3 players, but if we can get 3 more improvements/upgrades next year, that would give us enough for a starting 5.
OMG..........now we're using math...............engineering math perhaps to make this into an equation...........sorry......don't accept the equation system at all............we have SPIRALLED downward.......and I have not seen or heard a single equation that defines what has transpired this season..........so please, let us not say that 3 people have improved and therefore maybe next year we might MULTIPLY that into 6 or 9 or geometrically into 27......no while a few players are playing hard, a lot have regressed which has to be factored into the EQUATION............because a team is a group of 12 or so.........oh, and lest we forget the COACHING part of the EQUATION...........which might........just might......be the most significant part........Mo is a senior and playing his heart out.............there is no equation there..........Mo, bless you.
Disagree on Marcus...more TO's, less fire, less accurate, fewer points, poorer shot selection, less physicality as the season has gone on. Coleman too. For KJ to be the star of a 5guard class is not saying much. His performance stands out only because the others have delivered so little. KJ is just alright, but I think he sits the bench next year unless his shooting improves.

my analysis---scale 0-10 with 0 very bad and 10 great BB play --BARROW--7 ; Sidebe--1; Johnson--3 ; Malcolm--- -- 2 but too soft and overrated can't shoot, terrible free throw shooter but probably has not played enough to grade accurately; Marcus---6-7; KJ----4 ; JJ---3 or 4; Grennan--big disappoimtment after all the hype- 2-3; Davis--seems like has potential; not enough PT to grade; Johnston--6 who knew he was this good , not SJ; Smith--has not played enough to really grade in all fairness, but from what I have seen 3-4; Chappell--3 or 4----so by my grade of the players its difficult to win----X factor THE COACH----minus 0 terrible job, and anybody with an ounce of sense would send him and his salary back to Princeton

It is very important for us to get a starting 5..... Thats the importance of the #5. Many teams have win with only 5 good players and a bunch of role players. We do not have that, and have not had that all season, and it is one of the main reasons we have played poorly. Its dificult to generate any type of chemistry and consistency with a rotating 2G, no real 3 guard, and centers that are struggling.
I agree that the regression of some players like Coleman and Sidibe has definitely hurt us, But I would certainly not put Marcus in that category, as he has expanded his game. He was basically a set shooter last year. And while he he still needs to improve his ballhandling a lot, the reason for the increase in turnovers is that he is dong so much more and has been asked to do more.
