Its 5:15 PM and I tried to watch the MAAC semi-finals on ESPN3, no video only an audio broadcast. Game started at 4:30 in Springfield. Seems the Iona/Canisus game is on a two hour delay with the video starting at 6:00 or 6:30 and the second game, manhattan and quinny being broadcastalso on a delay starting at 9PM. Even if you want to watch the game live on your computer , you cannot. The MAAC = a joke. Must be desperate for live attendance , so they are forcing THE FANS TO ATTEND THE GAME OR BUST!
I am watching the semi's live on ESPN3....... No delay
So let's see. A Patriot League lacrosse game (Loyola v. Duke) is on the national TV CBS Sports Network while the MAAC basketball tournament is non-existent on ESPN3. And the Loyola move to the Patriot League hurt them how?
Uh oh...board police! This game is on national TV as part of the PL partnership with the CBS Sports Network as is the PL basketball tournament. You might want to discuss what the CBS Sports Network has meant to the PL with Pete Gillen.

Loyola drew 318 for their home tournament game against Lafayette last week. As bad as that is, it just might be more people than watched a lacrosse game on CBS Sports Network.
Not saying the 'Hounds made the wrong move, but let's not make it seem like they jumped to the Big East. No matter how you slice it, they jumped to a lower-rated basketball league than the MAAC.
Don't know if anyone else saw the Ensor interview during the Manhattan-QU game explaining the move to ESPN 3. Basically sounded like a guy who doesnt know anything about the internet or the future of technology. Basically signed on the dotted line because ESPN asked him to. He himself admitted to having difficulty watching at home until his son hooked up the playstation to stream the game on the TV. We will really expand fan interest this way.
MSG was perfect for this league, television coverage in the areas where schools are located. Little competition and all the bars would have it on during St Patrick's Day! (yes some towns celebrate early) Even when success slaps us in the face we go out of our way to ruin it.
Everything about the MAAC and Fairfield scream mediocrity at this point.

Stagophile (Stagophile) 3/9/14, 8:50 PM @maaccommish Rich, you should reconsider the value of our relationship with ESPN. ESPN3 provides absolutely no exposure for the MAAC.
Stagophile (Stagophile) 3/9/14, 8:52 PM @maaccommish While a great platform for existing MAAC fans, it does nothing to place our product in front of the casual hoops fan.
Stagophile (Stagophile) 3/9/14, 8:53 PM @maaccommish The MAAC tournament has been non-existent. Look at how the PL has been on national TV with the CBS Sports Network.
Rich Ensor (@maaccommish) 3/9/14, 9:56 PM Stagophile appreciate interest, but its a league decision, one I support
