Verbal commits says we have offered Walter Wright a JUCO guard originally from Wilby High School in Waterbury. Wondering if anyone has seen him play or knows if he is visiting.
Why haven't we heard anything from the school or program about Threatt? THE BUNKER MENTALITY OF this program is the worst that I have ever seen. Good communication with your few fans Sydney.

There's an article today in the Waterbury paper about Walter Wright: www.rep-am.com/sports/college/858162.txt. I haven't seen him play, and he's only 5'10", but given that we are desperate for guys who can create offense, I love that he is averaging 23.9 points and 6.7 assists per game.
He's got a long list of schools, he's probably not worth holding our breath on. Interestingly, here's what Wright says he's looking for: <<"I am looking for a place where I can start or get good minutes. I want to be on a team that has a chance to win its conference, so there is the possibility of playing in the NCAA tournament. I want to have a good relationship with the coaches and feel that the team is like a family. And I want a place that can help prepare me so I have a shot at playing professionally after school.">>
Sounds to me like Wright is very similar to Threatt as far as height and numbers put up as a JUCO. I'll bet their aspirations of choosing the right team and future reflect each others too. Would their outcomes be that much different under Sydney do you think?
I feel the same way about JUCO's as I do about redshirting freshman; they're a luxury item. If you've put together a good team and feel like you lack one thing, a 3 point shooter, a rebounder, a lock down defender, that might put you over the top, go grab one. Getting one for two years to make you middle of the pack is a statement about your inability to recruit high school and prep school players who can step in and play. Sorry, I'll pass.
