If I was SJ, early on in our next game I would run a set play for either Marcus or Malcolm to receive an alleyoop pass for a slam. That would demonstrate 1. SJ knows how to utilize the skills of tall players with good leaping abilities. 2. Energize the crowd. 3. Most likely rev up the defensive intensity since the players will probably be feeding off the crowd and bench noise from the slam and 4. Probably shock the Monmouth coaching staff since they likely don't have anywhere in their scouting report a plan to defend against us playing above the rim.
Using that play until Monmouth makes the necessary adjustment to stop it would show everyone that SJ is going to use our player's strengths to get a win instead of thinking SJ's x's and o's are superior to our opponent's x's and o's. Baron at Canisius knows how to motivate his players to get wins without all-MAAC level talent --- it's actually way past time for SJ to show he knows how to effectively motivate his players to get maximum performance out of this squad.
Stags on a 3 game losing streak and playing Monmouth again 12 days. Maybe SJ won't make any changes? Maybe the coaching staff thinks it isn't their x's and o's game plan that is the problem? A pivotal game in this (6-14) season? Either way it will be interesting. A W or a L but hopefully not another bad performance on Friday in front of the ESPNU national audience.

just one persons opinion we do not get many points from pushing the ball from turn overs inside drive and dish or, second shots and they usually place one big tough guy inside tyler nelson's shirt this leaves us to defend the quick, strong, and sharp people not on the fairfield bench. a tough task for the present and near future the stag program has to dig in, dig deep, and dig out

In the Canisius game Malcolm received a perfect pass within a foot of the basket. Instead of rising up and simply slamming it through, he dribbled the ball and tried a swooping layup that fell short of the basket. Very telling. I contrast to last year when he powered through a number of highlight jams. We need our Malcolm of last year in beast mode now. No more pussy footing around the basket. Attack the rim Malcolm!

The player personnel and style of play is ridiculously mismanaged...
Malcolm has had one dunk this year that I remember, he was pretty much alone. Rome has tried 2 or 3 allyoop passes, none of which have been on the mark.
the ESPNU national audience........God, The ESPNU national audience numbers in the dozens.....not even hundreds or thousands. More people attend WBA games than watch ESPNU.
