It will always be the Quad to a lot of us when it just had Loyola, Gonzaga, Regis, Campion, Northwest (the newest dorm not a Kardashian) and was not landscaped or had real concrete sidewalks or benches but it was our home for 4 years.

Had the opportunity last evening to participate in a tour of the DSB given by one of the assistant deans of the school. The school is designed to deliver education according to today’s delivery model of having students learn in a collaborative manner. Much of the furniture in the rooms is moveable allowing for team learning in pods , learning in the more traditional stand up mode or a combination of both. The dean indicated the students prefer to use there own devices so the school accommodates with a BYOD model, bring ur own device, allowing the students to connect their personal devices to the learning content. There are several large 360 degree class rooms in middle core of the DSB that are kind of neat. Lots of flat panel screens in all class rooms allowing students and professors to view learning content from any vantage . There is a very large and spacious events hall that can hold up to I believe 360 people that will be used for DSB program events. Architecturally, the building did very little for me. There really is no sense of a main focal point entrance. The interior finishes are a bit bland/ monotone and did not “wow “ as I hope it would. All in all a good addition to our beautiful campus which will help to elevate the DSB.

It is a functional modern classroom building. The new Convocaton Center-- now that better be a WOW!

Was driving though campus one day and a student was sitting in the sun on the front porch reading. I asked him how they were inside and the answer was "sensational". Oh to be a senior at FU again!

They should replace the Townhouses will these. Unfortunately they keep putting money to band aid the Townhouses. The expected life of the townhouses was 20-25 years- obviously they are well past that.

The Townhouse Complex sits on the north end of campus, adjacent to the Dolan campus, athletic fields, the Walsh Athletic Center, and McAuliffe Hall. The Townhouses consist of 105 units spread across 15 blocks of houses, which are occupied by nearly 600 juniors and seniors

The townhouses are being rebuilt section by section. Renewing the oldest first. A very good plan.
