Time will tell. Watching Leach's tape I see him more as a 2G but we will see. Should hopefully play well with Caleb at PG next year too. I wouldn't mind getting another guard who can score either as a PG or SG too.
Here is another evaluation of Jalen Leach. This is from Rimsnet and at #27. Looks like more of a scorer. Also, goes 1-0n-1 too much. That could be more like Needham and opposed to a Tyler Nelson.
27. G Jalen Leach 6″4 185lbs. Tilton School/ New Hampshire Strengths: Dynamic scorer who can create off the bounce that is elite ball handler. Has excellent speed and quickness in transition and isn’t afraid to go vertical put down a flush. Capable defender that can make impact blocks and steals on occasion. Weaknesses: Defensive effort comes and goes at times. Definitely high level offensive scorer but can focus on going 1 on 1 a bit too much and can be ball dominate.
Still alot of work to be done with 4 spots. I expect a transfer or two to commit in the next 2 weeks.
Hope the staff is putting together great 'virtual' tours of the school considering there will be no such things as visits for the next couple of months.

Given the state of affairs, last season. I'd move that into the "Strengths" section.
Maybe he is a little too much 1-on-1... but a 2G that can score inside/outside and will take his man off the dribble... while also making plays for others... sounds like EXACTLY what the Stags need. Hope he can do those things at a high level.
I do not think that our guards have magically turned into a Strength. I think we need another Frosh Guard or a Transfer guard that can step right in.
Yeah winning the recruiting wars are crucial, so we'll see what happens with these two players and their respective schools. Anyone in the top 50 NERR is probably pretty talented though. Therefore a difference of 22 spots could mean a lot but maybe not so much at all. Don't forget, Jesus Cruz was rated in the 90s on the same list three years ago when the Stags got him. And Rich Kelly was 59th.

I think the fact that he appears to be a combo guard who is equally comfortable playing as a point or a 2 is the main reason why Leach appears to be a great fit for the Stags. It's important that he and Green can coexist together on the court (which would satisfy your hope), and it looks like that may happen here. But you're also right, we need one more similar back court player to really insure success.

We can also shoot for a PF and a Center.
Yeah we still have openings for all three of those positions. And yes regarding the guard situation it certainly looks like Leach will be a big help, but even so that would still leave the team in danger if for whatever reason one of the guards were forced to miss any games. So absolutely we need at least one more who can step in right away. I'm sure the coaches are aware of that and are working on the situation as we speak.

Can’t ask for a better report minus the defense lapses. He will figure that out quick enough to get on the floor.
Yeah the pluses certainly appear to outweigh the minuses here, that's for sure. And think of the two main weaknesses listed in this report. The defensive criticism is surely something that Jay Young should be able to correct over time given his known ability to bring out the best in his players in that regard. Play hard all the time or sit, that will probably be a point of emphasis, and BTW I'm sure the kid understands this as he is coming into the program and therefore will welcome the opportunity to be coached in this manner. And as far as being characterized as tending to go 1 on 1 too much, well considering the Stags had basically no one who could effectively go 1 on 1 this past season, maybe if harnessed a bit, that could be a good trait, right?
