According to Green, he was offered a basketball scholarship by Stony Brook, New Hampshire, Holy Cross, Brown, Fairfield, Loyola and Lafayette. Also it looks like Caleb Green wants to be a "Scoring PG". That is exactly what we need.
"Stony Brook, Holy Cross and Lafayette showed the more interest in me" said Green. "They were all at 95% of my AAU games during the live period. What separated Holy Cross to me was when they were recruiting me coach Carmody showed me how when he was the coach at Northwestern their team's point guard led them in scoring 7 out of 10 years and his point guards averaged 35-38 minutes per game. That's what I want - to go somewhere I can play a lot. Plus I'm a point guard who can score. Their coaches are where the best fit is for me."

The only players that I see as future players that could apply for a waiver are
Vincent Eze - after this year, he will have played 3 years and sat 2 years..... could get an extra year Aidas Kavaliauskas - after this year, he will have played 2.5 years in 5 years...... could get an extra year

I believe Aidas began taking classes in January 2017. He started to play in the 2017-2018 season, and played more than half-a-season that year. That would put him playing 3 years in 3.5 years.

Call its 3 years or 2.5 years. I think the issue was Aidas was ineligible for a year by the NCAA. He could not sign or play NCAA college Basketball for any school in 2016. He was not at Fairfield, but he lost his freshman year of Basketball. It was either a VISA issue or he was playing professionally in Europe.

If that's right, I would think that ineligibility due to visa issues might offer a better chance of getting a waiver than if it was an NCAA issue? Of course with the NCAA, logic doesn't always win out.
And who knows if Aidas even wants to play another year of college ball. And if he does, he might choose to play elsewhere. He has his limitations, but I'd be happy to see him at FU another year if it all works out.
Not sure if this was posted on the board before. I apologize if everyone has seen this. It’s a nice video of Caleb Green & Rutgers star guard Geo Baker’s relationship. It gives some insight on Caleb and his leadership Caleb’s Prep coach has great things to say about him. Can’t wait to see this kid play for the Stags this year! youtu.be/5OfyROx25j4
Caleb Green is going to walk right into our Starting PG position. He seems to be going to be a team leader (along with Benning), And he is going to come to us with a history of playing 35+mpg. He is certainly a PG with lighting speed.
Looks like Green, Geo Baker and Ngalakulinda wanted to play together . Almost happening.

Well if Green and Baker couldn't play together, how about a game where they play against each other?
Maybe JY can get a game against Rutgers this season? He said they are looking for a couple of guarantee games. Rutgers is likely to be a Top 20 team.

Well of course that would be hard for the Stags to win. OTOH many other opponents in that top 20 area would also be in that category, so given the short distance between the schools for travel I'd say this idea would make sense. HOWEVER, if past history means anything regarding the coaching fraternity, normally friends in the business are reluctant to play each other so very soon after parting. In that regard it is interesting that Ed Cooley, in a return to the Fairfield campus to speak at an event, went out of his way to suggest that he hated playing Fairfield right off the bat after getting the Providence job. The only reason why he did was because that was part of the buy-out in the contract that stipulated he would have to play the Stags in a series of games. It was a 2 for 1 situation as I recall. I believe (pure speculation on my part I admit) that Ed's feeling is similar to a lot of other coaches who are in the same situation.

That was my immediate thought - that coaches don't like to do that. Isn't it Mike Kryyzewski famous (or infamous) for that?
