Nashville, his name is Jay Mezzo. He is a role player, Who is first or second off the bench depending on game situations and match ups. He rarely shoots but does rebound and plays tough defense.
There won't be any state champs in CIAC hoops this year as the CIAC decided today to cancel all remaining winter sports tournament games due to concerns over the spread of the coronavirus.

The National Prep Showcase is in Ct all day today. With some of our offered players playing in it. I hope since the coaches will be there. Only Media or College Coaches are allowed in the gym
Yeah when you are talking about possible life or death situations and when there is so much uncertainty about what is going on, I do think that in many ways it is best to be safe rather than sorry, therefore at first glance I understand this move. However, and I don't claim to have any expertise about the virus, but my next reaction is they should have somehow worked to keep the tournament (and all the other CIAC tourneys) moving toward a finish even if they had to play all the games with only the players, coaches, officials and other needed personnel required to get the job done. The kids complaint seems to be that they will have to be in class all day with classmates that in some schools are more than a thousand, yet they aren't allowed to compete with a few players in a controlled environment, and I think that's a valid point. Anyway there are no easy answers in this obviously unprecedented situation, but you have to feel bad for these athletes, especially the seniors, who have dedicated many years of hard work and preparation for something like this. Many will have participated in their last official varsity team activity of any kind, and that's a shame.

Postpone not cancel is a better option-in a few weeks, we’ll know more-why not wait-it might be inevitable but why not keep an option? Lots of ways to minimize things can be done-no fans among those options. Respect the situation-don’t panic.
The NCAA is doing it. The NBA is doing it. Why not the CIAC?
NBA. Not anymore.
Things are happening so fast that just 7 hours after I wondered if maybe playing without a crowd might have been an option, now my mind is made up, the CIAC got it exactly right. NBA suspending the season for (who knows how long) after Gobert of the Jazz was diagnosed with the virus was the tipping point for me. Certainly I can feel the hurt for all the athletes affected, especially those seniors who might not ever get this opportunity again. But this is a serious problem about to get out of control if it is not properly managed by all responsible parties working together all over the country. Everyone experiences some sort of heartache in their life at some time or another as is the case here. But hopefully every one of these kids will go on to lead happy and HEALTHY lives, and if they do then I'm sure the hurt they feel now will disappear as they realize the significance this decision may have had in helping them and all their family and close friends avoid the disaster of getting seriously infected.

Yeah but then you would be running into spring sports where quite a few kids who play hoops would also be on one of those teams. Unfortunate, but truly no way out of this situation.
In retrospect, CIAC made the right call. FYI - member schools were pulling out of state tournaments and gave CIAC no choice in this matter. Look at the schools that are closed or will be closing. Need to be early on this rather than late - may not be popular decision but is correct decision.
