In the battle of the last place teams, Canisius came back from a 5 point lead with 16 secs left to beat Marist 66-65. Canisius and Marist are now tied for last place with 4-7 records
Monmouth beat Rider. Monmouth is now in 1st place at 7-3.
I agree tough to be successful at St Pete’s with a limited budget, and small campus. However, he has one major advantage. Holloway can take anyone into the school he can recruit because of low academic standards. I think Coach Dunne the former SPU coach will struggle at Marist because he will find he does not have the recruiting latitude he had previously at SPU because Marist is a much better school.

Bridgeport won its 14th straight tonight at the Hub, and is now #10 in the Nation D2. Nemaja Zubac, former Stag played some and scored 2 points. Too bad Ffld hasn’t had them on the schedule since UB beat Ffld two years ago. Why is that? Attendance was very good comparatively. Is it because UB beat Ffld?

Disco, first of all as a local fan of all things basketball, both college and high school, I'm very happy they are having the year they are having. Haven't been down there yet this season but I certainly plan to before the season is over. I believe they will be hosting a regional won't they?
But anyway, regarding why Fairfield won't play them, I believe (no I know) the reason has nothing to do with the fact that in their last encounter the Knights won. Fact is that game was an exhibition contest designed to help each team get ready for the start of a new season. And Jay Young, like a lot of coaches, prefers the 'closed scrimmages' to a live game against a D-11 or D-111 opponent. I personally would like to see the teams match up. After all I remember watching the two schools play each other going back to the mid-60s. But the coach has the final say in how he wants to prepare his team, and for that reason I'd be surprised if you would ever see this meeting occur as long as Jay is in charge.

The home attendance in Alumni Hall was 1,247 on November 3, 2017 for the last exhibition game against Bridgeport (86-88). Comparatively the only other Alumni Hall home game in the 2017-18 season was against Old Dominion and that drew 2,410 fans which was more than any other home game played at the WBA in downtown Bridgeport that season.
The largest crowd this season (307 fans) at Bridgeport's home game against Division II ECAC Daemen College (Amherst, NY). UB is averaging 196 fans at home this season.
Interesting picture. Outside of the two players at the hoop, everyone else is just standing flat footed and not even moving. The player taking his warmup off seems more active than the players on the court.
“Yale is like playing a high-major team without the high-major cache,....Scheduling is extremely important for a variety of reasons: from a competitive standpoint, from a recruiting standpoint, from a profile of your program standpoint.” Sacred Heart head coach Anthony Latina said. The Bulldogs haven’t managed to schedule an in-state opponent since the 2016–17 season.
Fairfield has played 23 games against Yale since the 1949–50 season, the sixth most among all non-conference opponents, but has not faced the Elis since 2015.
This is a very interesting article in that it explains how important and how difficult it is for a coach to put together a schedule that best fits the needs of his program. Right up there with recruiting and even more important than actual game coaching was the main thought of Anthony Latina, head coach at Sacred Heart. Sometimes in the many months of the off-season when scheduling comes up (for lack of anything else to discuss here), some people are quick to criticize the final product that comes out from the Stags without really understanding all the work and consternation that goes into it. Not as easy as you would think, that's all I'm saying.
