Our priority for next year is a #2 guard not a point guard IMO. close the deal on a good shooting guard.
I think he’s a combo who can make plays.
He is a combo who makes plays, certainly something I witnessed in person in New Haven last month. He, as a Putnam Science teamate of the 2nd rated recruit in New England (Diallo) plus the kid we lost out on to NJIT (Mekhi Gray), was clearly the STAR that day, and this against big-time competition. I'm excited that we are after him!

Looks to me that Silvera is a combo guard whose strength is attacking the rim. If that is what he is, then you pair him with another Combo guard who can shoot

What's really enticing about this kid is that, if the one game I watched was any indication, is he was not only great at attacking the rim, but also great at shooting. Hit a lot of shots from all over the court including some from beyond the arc. Also made plays and passes that set up his teammates for scores. One game sure, but VERY impressive that day!

Worcester kid. He has great hands and was a terror on defense and attacking the rim. The knock, before he left for prep school, was that he wasn't a great shooter. He's a thicker guard so he handles pressure well and doesn't get knocked around easily.
He looks like exactly what we need ...... A multi-talented 2G (players like a Needham, Han, Todd, and Tyler Nelson). We need 2 of them.
As a junior guard at Doherty High two years ago, Marty Silvera averaged 24.7 points and 8.5 assists, and was honored as T&G Hometeam Player of the Year.
So far, Silvera has received offers from UMass, Hofstra, Iona, Marist, Fairfield, St. Peter’s and Bryant.
If one game is a barometer such as the one where I watched him play last fall, the Peacocks got a good one. Maybe when we got the commitment from Leach a few days ago (very similar in NERR ratings), that made it harder to also get Silvera. Plus maybe in reverse, St. Peter's had an immediate opening with the departure of some of their key players from this past season's successful squad. Recruiting to a given situation is CRUCIAL EVERY YEAR now because of the reality of the fluidity regarding the rosters of almost any team in the country.

It will be interesting to see how Silvestri and Jalen Leach compare in the MAAC. Silvestri averaged 24.7 points and 8.5 assists 2 years ago in HS. Leach averaged almost the same numbers this year at Tipton in prep school. .
Also we should compare how Mekhi Gray turns out at NJIT. Silvestri and Mekhi were 7th and 8th in the Rotation at Putnam Science. I would have liked to have one of those 2 in addition to Jalen Leach.
