"Before a standing room crowd of 3,300, a CPTV audience and several hundred closed circuit TV viewers in the campus center's Oak room..." Still seems hard to believe after all the years.

I went to the NIT Dayton game when I was an intern at U of Kentucky Medical School in 77-78... as I recall Steve Balkun was hurt but played anyway .. Dayton ran away with it at the end .. large home crowd .. I had big Stag sign and was much younger lol .. I thought our program was headed for the big time as that was one hellava team .. course I thought that as a kid when we had that great year with Branch, Brown, Burke etc ... still hoping
Sonofdoc,a little help. What method are you using to attach and post your clippings? I have both a new IPad and rather new PC and whenever I try to attach a scanned image or a picture, either the file is too big or the image is transferred like a thumbnail image which is too small to be of use in my post. Thanks in advance if you have any words of wisdom for an Old Stag.
I clearly remember ralph rehn getting decked that day by brown like it was yesterday. lots of stag games on the road and at home since then. Alumini hall was a real home court "pit" in those days. A lot has changes since then and those days are gone for good.

Hopefully the new Alumni Hall Convocation Center will bring that real home court back because clearly the WBA is no "home court advantage" and it feels like a neutral site to the opposition and their fans.

First let me say reindeerfan gets all the credit for patiently providing me with helpful instructions. What I did was this - I scanned the article onto the computer, then opened it with snip & sketch to format it and size it. Then I copied the picture onto the internet, then in the message board I copied the image address into the comment box. I then highlight the address, click the insert image icon above and it appears. I have some limitations to the size so that is why some of the articles show up larger or smaller; the snip and sketch may have a limited scan area so I just try to cut out as much as the margin as I can which makes the remaining area larger. I find that if the newspaper article is more than two columns, the print will show up small and hard to read. If you want any more precise instructions, please feel free to email me. If anyone else like Bob has some pointers feel free to add them. We need some young tech whizzes on this board.

Yeah I also remember that. One punch knockout victory for the Ram center I think. Brown BTW was a beast who was strong and known for blocking shots. But what I also remember about that incident was that the Stags, clearly inspired by the fired-up (and maybe juiced) crowd then proceeded to take over the game and go on to get an important victory. And since that happened during the breakthrough year of the Barakat regime (1972-73) when an NIT invite, previously unattainable, was on the line, I think a case could be made that that was one of the most important points of demarcation regarding how tough it was for opponents to come into AH. Of course the "old" AH with no back bleachers was intimidating too, therefore this new set-up was kind of a revival of sorts. But finally in talking about that happening on that night, it's interesting how the writer referred back to that time in a report on the Manhattan game in 1978. Certainly there was a lot of connection from year to year in the 70s.
