The Fairfield community is invited to attend a "Last Call at Alumni Hall" farewell reception on Saturday, March 7 from 7 to 10 p.m. in Alumni Hall. Join this special celebration as Stags and friends say farewell to one of the longest standing buildings on Fairfield's campus. Remarks will be given by Fairfield University President, Mark R. Nemec, PhD, and by Rev. Charles H. Allen, S.J., University Chaplain and special assistant to the President, who will also lead a special prayer.
Constructed in 1959, Alumni Hall has been a landmark facility in Stag Country for more than 60 years – home to the University's three-time MAAC Champion men's and women's basketball teams, and the 11-time MAAC Champion volleyball team. The venue has also housed several concerts throughout the decades, with memorable performances by the Beach Boys, The Byrds, John Legend, and more. The upcoming "Last Call" event will provide guests an opportunity to spend time in the building and share stories about their own experiences in Alumni Hall, before construction begins for the planned new Arena & Convocation Center.
Join fellow Stags and friends as they say goodbye to this storied piece of Fairfield history and celebrate the vision for the future. The cost to attend the "Last Call at Alumni Hall" farewell reception is $25 per person, with a portion going to support the planned Arena & Convocation Center. There will be food, drinks, and music – and each guest will receive a vintage Fairfield shirt. Attendees are encouraged to show their Stag spirit by wearing red or Fairfield gear to the event.
Also on March 7, Fairfield Women's Basketball will play the last official game in Alumni Hall at 2 p.m on Senior Day. The Fairfield community is encouraged to double down on their love for Alumni Hall and their Stags by also attending the final game on the current George Bisacca Court, as the women take on Niagara University.

I was at the "previous last Stag Basketball Alumni Hall game" on February 25, 2000 before the move off campus to the Arena at Harbor Yard in downtown Bridgeport. It was a Stag Basketball Alumni Hall Doubleheader with TOT's team getting a 86-63 win over Loyola and Dianne Nolan's team getting a 84-80 OT win over St. Peter's. A great AH crowd that day 20 years ago. It would be nice if both of those Stag coaches were invited back this March. Hopefully the University will use the Stag Sports Network to broadcast Dr. Nemec and Fr. Allen's remarks and or have a video feature on the event and Alumni Hall for those of our fellow alumni and Stag fans that are unable to attend. Also a great way to promote the new Alumni Hall Convocation Center with more information.

"One of our goals annually is to increase fan engagement through exciting promotions and giveaways," said Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing & Fan Experience Sarah Ratchford. "The Alumni Hall replica was very well received by our fan base, and we are honored to be the recipient of a NACMA "'Best Of" award for the 2019-20 school year."
Last season Stag Men's Basketball averaged 2,001 fans on campus in Alumni Hall and 1,141 fans in downtown Bridgeport at the Webster Bank Arena.
