Only the bravest of fans will be at the game with the temps in the 25-30 degrees range in the stands watching the opener. Lax needs to take the lead of baseball and play one or two regular season games in a warm climate.

Good start for Andrew Baxter era. Stags played solid defense holding SB to no goals i believe in 3rd quarter. Dylan Beckwith at attack will be a force in CAA games. Five goals for him today. Stags up!

Despite falling behind the Seawolves by a 5-0 count less than 10 minutes into the contest, the Stags regrouped, rallied and came away with an 18-16 victory. "I'm super proud of the guys," said Baxter, who earned his first win as a collegiate head coach. "We obviously showed some nerves in the first half going down 5-0. But I challenged them to go out and play our brand of lacrosse, and they responded."From Stony Brook:"Lacrosse is a game of runs," first-year coach Anthony Gilardi said. "That's what makes it exciting. When you're on a run, you've got to take as much as you can get when you can get it. And then, when the other team is going on a run, you've got to stop it. You've got to stop it with being disciplined in the face-off X, being disciplined on offense, being disciplined on defense. And then you go on another run."In the third quarter we allowed their run to dictate the game. We talk about being the tougher team every time we play. And we were not the tougher team today."
891 fans at Rafferty Stadium on a very, very cold 26 degree afternoon on campus. Box Scorefairfieldstags.com/sports/mens-lacrosse/stats/2020/stony-brook/boxscore/10065It will be a quick turnaround for the Stags, who stay home at Rafferty Stadium to host Merrimack on Tuesday at 3 p.m. The Warriors, who enter the Division I ranks in 2020 following back-to-back Division II National Championships, are 0-2 on the young season with close losses to Holy Cross and Dartmouth.

Class move by Paul Schlickman. I like when he did it with Jay Young, too. Great that they filmed to share with Stag fans. It instantly humanizes the team & coaches and builds excitement and loyalty to the program. This was a very solid win and start to the season against the defending regular season champions of the America East Conference. And, the video clip has gotten 14+k views. I can’t remember that happening recently in any Stag sport.
