Both Aidas and Benning are capable of finding seams and penetrating. When doing so, Benning generally gets off a decent shot if not a lay-up, and Aidas usually finds someone to dish or pass to. Love to see more of that against the Jaspers.

Anyone know what's up with Wassef? IMO he was sorely missed in the rotation vs Monmouth. Illness? Injury? Will he be available Friday? This late in the season, with short rest between games and the tournament looming, depth is more important than ever.

The fact that Wassef was not dressed or in attendance at the last game is suggestive of "a violation of team rules" kind of situation or perhaps a serious illness. In either case, with a short turnaround to Manhattan and the MAAC tournament, it might be a reasonable assumption to infer that we might not see Wassef in the remaining games. So I will be surprised if Wassef is in the rotation tomorrow; however I hope I am wrong about this......
Regressed offensively? Who were we back in November, the Runnin' Rebels? Poor offensively then, poor offensively now. The biggest difference is non-conference vs conference. With the exception of whatever Masiello was smoking in the the first game, MAAC coaches have seen this show repeatedly and know how to game plan vs our personnel.
Seems as if there's an inference that JY somehow has a governor on these guys. I'm sure he would be ELATED to have a couple of offensive creators that could alleviate the stress of the half-court sets. A couple legit 3 point threats would be awesome. FU73 posted the team 3 pt percentage...an awful 28%. A couple of the guys being suggested to shoot more 3's are BELOW the 28%! Being very careful here because I do not want to be critical of any player(s) specifically. I come from an era and believe in the adage that "You don't boo college kids." So we use the word "challenged" to describe our offensive capabilities when there are several more adjectives that could easily be used.
Well when the Honeymoon ends normally the participants go back home and try to make the relationship work, and in this case that's exactly what should and probably will happen. I'm frustrated as a Stag fan just like you are frustrated as a Stag fan, but I think we can all agree, given the state of the program when Jay Young came here it was always going to take more than a year to fix. So to be consistent with my thoughts previous I will say the following (again). Not next season but rather the season after that when Jay is coaching HIS players will we truly have an idea whether this new era of Stag Basketball is going to be one to be proud of rather than the same old same old. Thinking otherwise is unreasonable and an over-reaction IMO.

The Stag Basketball program is moving forward with Jay Young (in his first season) and not going backward after 8 seasons with Sydney Johnson. Maybe it's not going forward fast enough for everyone but it is going forward.
Sydney Johnson, 2018-19: #10 seed (9-22).290, (6-12) with 1,457 average home attendance.
Jay Young, 2019-20: #8 or #9 seed (11-19).366, (7-12) with 1,670 average home attendance.
Even if the Stags lose tonight at Manhattan, #9 seed (11-20).354, (7-13), the Stag Basketball program is still better off and better than this time last year.

Well said!
I think the vast majority of the fan base, myself included, is fair and will give Jay a few years before judging him. I personally feel the same as Nashville and 79 in that I think we have to wait to judge Young until he has 2 full recruiting years and the quality of who he brings in is the most important factor in evaluating him. All that said, I think no one is happy with this final stretch of play, it has not been as inspired as what we saw earlier in the year.

I agree. Need to give JY another full recruiting cycle before any true judgement as far as progress with the program. OTOH has the team 'hit the wall' or given up on this year. Tonight will give us that answer.
Jay Young does need 3-4 years to have a proper evaluation. But this season is not over. While tonight’s Manhattan game does not mean that much. The MAAC Tourney does mean a lot. Going down in the PIG would not be a positive in the MAAC tourney. Getting to the MAAC semis would certainly be a Major accomplishment.
Caleb Green and Ngalakulindo have to be 2 of our best players.... and future All MAAC players,
But the biggest need is for Jay Young is to Win the recruiting battles for all MAAC guards...... Transfers and Guards.

Having back Benning and Cruz along with players like Green, Ngalakulindo and a transfer in of the caliber of a player like Kiss would give us a different look next year. I think getting some quality incoming freshman though is the most important building block for the future and a center and guard are the biggest needs.

I hope Tshiefu can score. He didn't score much at St. Bonaventure, but of course he didn't play much, either. He scored 1,000+ points in HS, though, including 16ppg as a senior. Caleb Green also scored 1,000+ points in HS.
