Siena self reported what is essentially minor violations where Pastos gave some of his players pocket change to buy food. Big deal. Siena gets three years probation. In the mean time several years ago UNC gets no NCAA penalty for it’s athletes receiving academic credits for classes that did not exist. The credits kept their players eligible.

FYI- The NCAA prescribes different treatment for vacated wins or contests depending on whether the affected match was a regular season game or took place during a tournament or bowl. In most cases, the win is stricken from the penalized team's official record, but the opponent retains the associated loss.

When you state tournament, are you referring only to the post-conference tourneys tournaments or also to the conference tournaments. In the '16-'17 season we lost to Siena in the opening round of the MAAC tourney. We also lost twice in the regular season to them. From what you've written I understand that we lost twice in the regular season in games against Siena where no team actually won the game. I'm sure RF's Early Edition Game Notes research department would love to know if we somehow are given a win in the opening round of the MAAC tourney in 2017 (even though we lost the game). Using sports reference, I'm seeing two wins against Siena in the '17-'18 season and a split with them in the '15-'16 season.

Patsos did learn his trade from one of the all-time great used car salesmen ... Gary Williams. This news does not surprise me one bit. I'm a bit surprised JP didn't do more (or did he?)
