Frankie Labetti went 24-30 (.800) on the draw today to set a new Fairfield single-game record for faceoff wins. Previously, Labetti shared the mark of 21 wins with Fairfield Athletics Hall of Famer and Major League Lacrosse legend Peter Vlahakis '04. In today's effort, Labetti also tied his own program mark with 15 ground balls. Rounding out his historic performance, Labetti also posted the first multi-point game of his career with a pair of assists. After a rare idle Saturday on the schedule, Fairfield (5-2) returns home to Rafferty Stadium where the Stags are undefeated at (4-0) to host BIG EAST Providence on Tuesday, March 17 at 7:00 p.m. The Friars, who will host CAA Hofstra this weekend, are currently (5-1) on the year. Nice victory by the stags. However a game that they should win. Next up, Providence which is the 3rd test of the season that will help define how good the stags really are this year. The first two tests vs nationally rank Georgetown (stags got spanked) and a middle of the pack Ivy league team, Harvard were both losses. The PC game is at home and the stags will of had an entire week to rest and to prepare for PC. Lets hope for a "w" in test #3.
