Don't know if it has been mentioned on this board but it just hit me that if the MAAC kept its conference tourney format we would have had a MAAC Champion. There still wouldn't be an NCAA tourney, but those seniors would have had a shot to win a title. It doesn't matter in the end but just another opportunity to knock Ensor.

Yeah and so would all the other conferences who hadn't finished their tournaments. Ensor and the MAAC deserve a lot of criticism they have taken over the years, but this isn't one of those times. The history of what is going on these last few days show they made the right call.

I was just saying by moving the tourney to AC, it pushed back the the start date a week. We would have wrapped up on Monday before everything got shut down. We’re usually one of the first conference tourneys finished. I’m not criticizing canceling when they did.

Well I'm glad you clarified that. OTOH although many didn't like the change in dates from previous years, obviously what happened couldn't have been predicted in any way. Just bad luck obviously, but when you observe all the misery that so many have and will suffer around the world from this event, seniors losing their chance at a championship certainly pales in comparison.

I like the Tues-Sat format, just a week earlier. Our winner then gets free publicity on all those broadcasts during championship week.

Wednesday thru Sunday are the are the best days. Having the MAAC Semis on a Saturday and Finals on Sunday makes it very easy for MAAC fans to make this game. Those that want to see some Friday night quarter-finals can easy get to 7pm and 9:30pm games.

Having the play in games 2 days before the actual tournament on campus at the highest seed could offer many advantages, including a possible friday saturday sunday format for the tournament, or a sat sun monday night tourney. There are other things like awards dinners and such that would be affected by moving to that format. So there are advantages and disadvantages to each approach, but it might be the advantages of on campus for the first round outweight the disadvantages.
