Good luck to any Stag that transfers. I hope they find a school that offers a similar academic setting while also offering a better opportunity to contribute on the court. After a coaching change and back to back 20 loss seasons, there should be movement of players from a past regime as the new coach continues to recruit his players for his system. Let's hope he is successful.
Wasseff was a nice player, especially when he was fired up! Sorry to see him go. I think, issue is, we are going to have a lot of forwards next year that are more Jay Young type players and we need guards. He probably recognized the situation and decided he wanted to move on rather than play a lesser role (or it was forced on him).
The number of transfers is starting to grow on a daily basis. Now up to 226 D-1 transfers. Recent years have typically been around 900 per year.
It will be interesting to see how Young and his staff approach these players. Obviously they are open to the possibility given that Green and Ngalakulondi are already on the team. More to come?
Would like to see the Stags make a positive move to get Rich Kelly to Transfer to Fairfield. If the new Transfer rule goes into effect this year. Rich Kelly could be playing back in his hometown with a degree from Fairfield
Has Kelly said he is transferring? I don't think you can approach players without them having announced they are transferring.
You are correct..... Cannot really recruit a transfer. However, I am sure that the Kelly family, Rich, John and their father, are very close to each other.

LOL to this whole statement. Rich is from Shelton, CT and went to Prep yes, but Shelton is equally 20 minutes to Hamden or Fairfield. I am sure at this point he is bought in at QU and wouldn't leave for a like school and I don't see him leaving at all.

Nice thought and OF COURSE Rich could help make the Stags a better team. HOWEVER, his position would be kind of an exact duplicate of the one that Caleb Green will be playing starting next season plus the season after if everything goes as planned. Always nice to have a good backup in that position, but who would it be and might it cause some ego problems between the two? Yes maybe they could co-exist on the court together with Rich being more of the off the ball type of guy. But still, for the reasons above, I don't think you will see Rich Kelly transferring to play for Fairfield, even if it meant he was passing up the chance to perform with his brother for a year.
