As I stated in an earlier post, those Juniors who transfer, and have not yet graduated, should consider having the credits from their new school sent to Fairfield so that they can obtain a degree from Fairfield.
Peterson is eligible to play immediately as a grad transfer. His position is similar to Eze who is a graduate of Maine playing for the stags immediately last year. Ps- I wonder when the school will know if their appeal to the NCAA to grant Eze another year of eligibility is successful?
Fairfield CT to Spearfish SD! to play D-2 basketball!! Why? Could Kevin have finished his eligibility by playing his last year as a Stag graduate student? I think I can understand this move If he had no eligibility to return to Fairfield? If he had eligibility to return to FF this move tells me that Jay Young sent him packing because he was no longer a fit for the program.

I think kids want to play. Especially in one will like be their final season of college sports. Kevin may have determined he was pretty far down on the depth chart and wanted to go someplace where he could start. As an athlete (and not a very good one) I always preferred being on a team where I played alot versus being on a team where I was a bottom player and not getting very many minutes. So Kevin went to a D2 school where he's probably going to get to play. Maybe it was his choice, maybe Jay pushed him out or maybe it was a decision that made sense for everyone....I do think he would not have gotten as many minutes at Fairfield as he may have wanted.

I think the coach gave everyone a chance to show what they could do this past season. He knew they weren't going to win a lot of games, so he ensured that he at least got a good look at what everyone could (or could not) do.
KSP had his chances. He played hard, but he struggled to produce. Decent rebounder but he really struggled to score close to the hoop.
From a coaching perspective, it probably came down to "Would I rather have a freshman big man who I can help to develop for four years (Edokpayi, Cook), or a senior (KSP) who has already shown me what he can do?"
I'd be surprised if the freshmen can't produce at a level that is at least comparable to KSP, and hopefully higher.
Best of luck to Kevin. Hope he has a productive year in SD.
Best of luck to Kevin who always seemed to give it his best. Great that today's college basketball environment gives players opportunities that may not have been available in years past.
Recent transfers affirm that SJ's recruiting level was not always up to D1 level.
