I agree with you 13, this guy would be a good get for Fairfield. Just to be fair though, I don't think he is on the level of where Sanders was. Actually Rakim as a 3 star recruit so many years ago at BC was a main player for the Eagles right from the start, and that was on a pretty good team. Indeed it was the Cooley connection that got him here in the first place, theoretically explaining why he would be willing to step down in class to play at the mid-major level. Gueye hasn't proven himself nearly as much at UAB. But that's not saying he couldn't have a positive effect here. So I hope we get him.
BTW concerning which way the NCAA will go with the new proposal, I think I read something yesterday that suggested they still are on the fence with what they will do, so much so that rather than doing it immediately and rather than waiting a whole year, they may get the new process going at the start of the new semester next winter. All very confusing for everyone, especially for the Stags considering how it would effect the availability of Wojcik for the coming season.
Agreed different roles on their respective teams and Rakim was a lot higher of a recruit but I'll take the upside of a 3 star prospect any day. He hasnt gottent the time to shine but I think he would do some damage in the MAAC. Iona is only getting more athletic and long, so we need to keep up.

High risk candidate with the numbers he has put up and the injuries. But sounds like he has high potential too. This will be interesting to see how it plays out we don't have a lot of scholarships left.
If he graduates he would be eligible immediately even if the NCAA does not change the transfer rule. I remember Kiss being a good player at QU. I would think a good pick up for the stags if Jay is interested? At the same time I see him to be similar to Wojick , so perhaps duplication?

Kiss to Fairfield makes too much sense, so it probably won't happen.
I've heard rumors that he has undefined "issues," whatever that means, and that Young is not interested. Hope that's not true. The kid will have a chip on his shoulder the size of New Jersey, and a lot to prove. He may not be a great three-pointer shooter, but he's good scorer and he will bring much-needed attitude and toughness to the lineup. It's a one-year roll of the dice, a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned.

Also curious about PK's status. If he hasn't graduated, is he even eligible to move to another D-I school, or is this something that would require a waiver? Maybe there are other issues... but it would make too much sense for him to return to the MAAC - a league where he first seemed on his way to becoming a top player. Don't know the state of his game - but the kid that left Quinnipiac could certainly help the Stags.
Perhaps some transfers are waiting on the May transfer ruling and are delaying decisions?
* according to the Rutgers board he is looking for a waiver to get a 2nd year of eligibility... on top of being immediately eligible.

Peter Kiss reminds me a lot of John Tice..... a rough and tough guard who can really play the 2G, 3G, SF or even PF. I would love to have Peter Kiss on the Roster.
From Rutgers board....... I don’t think him being on the roster was the teams choice. Pike doesn’t force people out, it was Kiss decision to garner more playing time his senior year.

The Kiss transfer is making a lot of sense now. It seem's that Kiss's "issues" were that he had to graduate before he transferred. Since Jay Young was his coach for 2 years we have to have an advantage with Kiss. That's assuming we want him.
Video and a good scouting report on Peter Kiss. "5 Things to Like" about Peter Kiss..... against Gonzaga and Seton Hall.
Appears that Kiss sitting on the bench all year could have been by design. The strategy might have been to not play him so he could pursue the possibility of getting two years of eligibility when he transferred. But wouldn't that make him a grad transfer with two years of eligibility? Has that ever happened before?
That seems like a bit of a stretch, but what do I know?
Peter Kiss reminds me a lot of John Nice..... a rough and tough guard who can really play the 2G, 3G, SF or even PF. I would love to have Peter Kiss on the Roster.

Well actually he reminds me of just the opposite of someone named John Nice, because that's exactly what he isn't, which is a good thing BTW, at least when you're talking about the makeup of a basketball player. John Tice (which I'm sure you meant to say) was not only a skilled player, but also someone who was a fighter, a winner and just a pain in the ass to the opposition. Kiss has a lot of those same traits. So I, too, would like to add him to the roster to fill the final available spot.

I know one thing. He was probably the biggest reason why we lost to Quinnipiac in Bridgeport that one year when he was there. I also think he had a good game against us in the return contest in Hamden (although the Stags won). So although he was a good player as a freshman, I always thought he had a chance to be outstanding going forward. Therefore how great would it be if that promise could come to fruition as a Stag? And as far as being similar to Wojcik, well not counting the fact that Woj might not be able to perform this season under NCAA rules, still, even if he can, you can never have enough good guards, small forwards and generally skilled players. Actually I do think Wojcik is more of a pure guard who is a better ball handler, passer and shooter than Kiss, yet Kiss would be a nasty presence closer to the basket who would do a lot of damage in the paint. Anyway, I would surely love to have BOTH of them on my squad!
