The Fairfield University Baseball program announced the 11 new members of the team joining the Stags for the 2021 season. Three transfers and eight freshman comprise the talented group that will enter their first year with the program. Sean Cullen, Owen Wosleger, Matt Hayes, Paul Catalano, Evan Berta, Emmett Tolis, Sheridan Dillon, Bowen Baker, Peter Ostensen, Colin McVeigh, and Andrew Feigenbaum represent the recruiting class under Head Coach Bill Currier. "With the addition of three quality older transfers and the good young pitching we have included in our freshman class, we are very happy with the way our recruiting coaches filled the holes for this coming year," Coach Currier said. "Along with these 11 new players we have four returning seniors coming back to utilize their NCAA granted extra year."....fairfieldstags.com/news/2020/6/11/baseball-announces-incoming-recruiting-class.aspx

I like how all the coaches are now using our graduate programs to attract top graduate transfers. Basketball, lacrosse and now baseball has attracted some top talent.

The transfer from Union appears to be an excellent player. Union is probably a D2 or D3 school so his numbers may not be as good at FF. Nonetheless he appears to be a very good edition to the stags program. All of the spring season recruits incoming this fall had to be evaluated w/o the benefit of results from their senior season which was wiped out by the virus.

Good to see Signore will be back for one more year. Remember, a couple of years ago he was considered maybe the best returning starter in the MAAC before being shut down a full season because of an injury. Didn't have a lot of success in limited action this spring, but maybe another year to reboot will really be to his benefit. While I don't claim to know nearly as much about the given strengths of the baseball team (and the rest of the league) as I think I do concerning the basketball squad, nevertheless I would have to think that a return to form of Signore could be a big plus for the Stags next season.
