This a very powerful video. You can agree or disagree but I found it very helpful in putting me in someone else's shoes.

i smell racism here. we want black players, ( they play better ) but like gladiators, we want them to go away after the game. rioting is wrong, police doing murder is wrong. speaking out for yourself is right. this is not about basketball after all.

Bridgeport, I could not have said it better, especially as a native of the South End.

Ypu’d better not be calling me racist, Bridgeport. I’ll put my record of volunteering for inner city youth against yours or against the cumulative record of all you guys who preach virtues, but insulate yourselves in your all white suburban towns. I continue to live in Bridgeport. I continue to volunteer my money, but more importantly my time to help kids here. How about you? How about any of you that virtue signal on this thread. I’ll tell you what. Contact me and I’ll provide you with some volunteer opportunities. I’ll bet I don’t hear from a single one of you. BLM is a radical fringe group that ruins serious efforts to reach racial harmony and racial equality. And, for the reasons I posted above, and others, promotes anti catholic agendas. No way a university that calls itself “Catholic” should endorse this group. It is treated by some as “main stream” because so many are afraid to tell the truth about it. They are worried that they’ll be called RACIST. Just like you did Bridgeport.

I’m sorry Bridgeport. That was not my intention. I know that you are a loyal fan. Fairfield Basketball has provided us with many proud moments, both on and off the court. It is my opinion that the apparent endorsement of BLM was not one of them. I ought to be able to express that opinion without being called a racist.

It's come to my attention that "www.change.org" is trying to use our site to promote their agenda. I have deleted their posts. Lets keep this site about Fairfield Athletics.

discobuck was spot on. Bullying and threats will not accomplish change. It will only antagonize. MLK would not approve! The focus should be on using the peaceful democratic process to elect public officials who can make changes and heal old wounds.

It would appear he is the self-proclaimed leader. There is no active NY chapter with a social media presence. And the BLM website speaks against what he advocates. They want a just society where their lives are valued.

Nobody is denying that "black lives matter." There is much that can be done to improve the lives of the black citizenry in our country. That said, I think it is entirely appropriate to question the methods of some within the "Black Lives Matters" organization. I believe the revolutionary/violent rhetoric will end up being counterproductive to the cause. I truly hope the Black Stags Matters movement proceeds in a productive manner and the University figures out how to create a more inviting environment at our alma mater. Much has been done but even more can be done! Some of their social media post have been very thoughtful but some have strayed into simply labeling Fairfield a racist institution. I think this is very unfair especially to the people associated with the University who have been working on making a difference whether on campus or through significant donations to support minority scholarships. www.blacklivesmattergreaterny.com/founder

For what it's worth, another perspective and point of view from Muhammad Ali's son. On the fourth anniversary of his death, Muhammad Ali’s only biological son says that his father would be against Black Lives Matter, calling the movement “racist” and the protesters “devils.” The legendary boxer and activist stood up against racism throughout his life, but Muhammad Ali Jr. says his dad would have been sickened by how the protests have turned to violence and looting after the death of George Floyd..... nypost.com/2020/06/20/muhammad-alis-son-says-he-wouldve-hated-black-lives-matters/
