Very provocative message from Catholic Charities President and CEO Rob McCann, Fairfield University Class of 1991.
"I am a racist...my Catholic Church and my Catholic Charities organization are racist."

I disagree with my classmate. Me too. He sounds like a clown. So it’s racist foe a mostly white board to support a mostly minority’s clientele? Huh? BLM in its non-violent form? Sorry, you can’t pretend that the violence is not a major part of the movement.

He’s speaking for the entire Catholic Church, and all white people? How arrogant!

US Catholic charity CEO: Catholic Church is racist because Jesus was ‘white’McCann went on to praise the pro-abortion and pro-LGBT Black Lives Matter group as a ‘Christ-like’ movementJune 26, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – Rob McCann, President and CEO of Catholic Charities Eastern Washington, recently declared that the Catholic Church is “racist” because Jesus was ‘white.’“Our Catholic faith tradition was built on the premise that a baby born in a Manger in the Middle East was a white baby. So how can we be surprised to know that we are a church that must still fight against racism even now,” McCann said in his June 19 youtube “Message to Staff and Clients.”McCann goes several steps further, however, declaring that the “hard truth” is that every “white person living in America” is a racist. .... www.lifesitenews.com/blogs/us-catholic-charity-ceo-catholic-church-is-racist-because-jesus-was-white

A committed association of Alumns have organized a Black Stags Matter group. They’re on Facebook and Instagram. I tuned into a live video last night where different professional women spoke about the challenges they face today and what it was like being a person of color at Fairfield. Group members met yesterday with Dr Nemec. I can say that from listening to their stories last night that these young people have voices that need to be heard as they work to engage the Fairfield community in difficult and necessary conversations.

This group insinuates that FU is racist. Its not. I hope you take the time to watch one of the videos. These young people experienced more isolation along with rude, insensitive and cruel comments day to day in their college experience than I ever did. Is that from racism, well you have to decide. When Fairfield students held a massive “ghetto” party, was that racist? Is the structural racism in our society being discussed and studied In coursework? I think if you listen to the young adults in this group you’d see that they’re serious and thoughtful. Their words may make us uncomfortable and we won’t agree with very point. But their stories need to be heard. Their experiences were genuine and they care about the future of their alma mater.

The ghetto party was not PC. However, i do know that it was attended by kids of all ethnic backgrounds - it was also quickly dealt with. If I recall, I think Father von Arx had a meeting / addressed this the night of a basketball game - some Lax players served a short suspension over it. Our kids aren't perfect - FU isn't perfect - we're not racist though.
