According to the Siena board there's a website out there called the "Big Blue Express" that is saying that Carmen Maciariello might be one of the finalists for the Fordham job. I've got to believe this might be more of a rumor than fact but you never know. Carm is in a solid situation where he is and I think he will stay. Next week or so should be telling as to what might happen.

He'd be crazy to leave Siena for Fordham. If he lives Siena, its got to be for a better job than Fordham
James Jones was reportedly in the mix last the last two times the Fordham job was open. Maybe the third time will be the charm. Or its a way to renegotiate his current deal.
Like I said previously this guy Neptune has been in the mix for other HC jobs recently. I would have expected FU to get a coach from a “ blue blood” program like Villanova. However , as stag fans know first hand the pedigree that a coach comes from does not spell automatic success for the program. Bunogura from Villanova and two Ivy League coaches in Cormier/Johnson are proof of that. If Neptune is in fact the new coach at The Rams good luck to him and to Fordham!
Lets get Fordham back on the Stag schedule on campus in the Convocation Center! The Stags are (13-30) against Fordham since 1961 and last played on Nov 20, 2012 (NIT Season Tip Off) in Bethlehem, PA a 74-71 (W) and in AH on Nov. 15, 2009 for a 63-55 (W).

May 4, 1971: Digger Phelps leaves Fordham for Notre Dame This one really hurt, because Phelps had guided Fordham to a 26-3 record and the NCAA Sweet 16 in 1970-71. He’d recruited a killer class as a follow-up, and there was momentum building for a new arena on campus. Then Johnny Dee retired in South Bend, Phelps left for $18,000 per year (even though Fordham countered with $20,000). The Rams have been to one NCAA Tournament since, that recruiting class never happened, and they still play at Rose Hill Gym, built in 1925.
“People have never believed me, but it ripped my heart out to leave Fordham,” Phelps told me not long ago. “But I’d dreamt of coaching at Notre Dame for as long as I’d dreamed of anything. I took a pay cut to go there! We were building something at Fordham, and if Johnny Dee hadn’t left, I might still be at Fordham, who knows?”
New York basketball has never been the same, though there was a brief spasm when Jim Valvano coached Iona (95-46) from 1975-80 and Mike Krzyzewski worked at Army (73-59) those same five years. Interestingly, they both left for greener pastures within two weeks of each other in 1980, landing 10 miles away from each other — Krzyzewski to Duke on March 18, Valvano to North Carolina State on March 27.
Fordham University Hires Kyle Neptune as Head Men’s Basketball Coach
Fordham University announced today that Kyle Neptune will become its new Head Men's Basketball Coach, taking the reins of the school's 117-year-old program. Neptune will leave his position at Villanova University where he has served as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach for eight seasons.
"I want to thank Father McShane, the University trustees, and the Fordham community for placing their trust in me as I look to create a bold new legacy here for men's basketball," said Neptune. "This is Fordham's time. As a native New Yorker, I couldn't be more thrilled to be coming home at a moment like this, when Fordham Men's Basketball is poised to make its mark in the Atlantic 10 Conference and beyond. I know this program well and I know its potential to recruit and develop winning young men both on and off the court who will inspire Fordham fans and the entire community."
Fordham's Athletic Director Ed Kull and Neptune will partner on an overall strategic mission for the success of Fordham Athletics that goes beyond the quest for men's basketball championships, but also to elevate the profile of the entire athletic department and its student-athletes nationally.

Rose Hill Gymnasium is a 3,200-seat multi-purpose arena on the Rose Hill campus of Fordham University in The Bronx, New York City, New York. The arena, which opened in 1925, is the oldest on-campus venue currently used primarily for an NCAA Division I basketball team. During the 2019-2020 season A-10 Fordham averaged 1,891 fans at home.
And, of course, Father McShane introduced him as the new FOOTBALL Coach.
