Like picking ice cream, how many flavors does Ferron want? Fairfield, Cal Baptist, Ok State and now someone else (not to mention a JC school initially), certainly he has become a symbol of the transparency that so many of these athletes are going through from year to year (for better or worse). Anyway all kidding aside, I hope first of all that Flavors gets a meaningful degree and second, he gets back with a program that needs his services more than the Cowboys who obviously had studs ahead of him on the depth chart. It's interesting to follow his career though, don't you think?
His career is a great story.
He went from CC (no D-I offers, I believe) to a couple of mid-majors to playing on a top team in the NCAA tournament. Early in the season, he did have a chance for big minutes at Ok State - but couldn't produce enough - and then I think he spent some time injured and others moved ahead. Maybe he should come back to Fairfield and help shoot us into our first tournament in 25 billion years... then sell his story to Disney.

Of general MAAC interest: Sloan Seymour (6'9"), played frosh year at Siena, followed Jamion Christian to GW, sat a year and played this year as a R-So but didn't do much: www.verbalcommits.com/players/sloan-seymour
Already 280 kids in the transfer portal with many teams still playing.
I wonder is Caleb Green has a friendship with Joe Pridgen after their days at Holy Cross.
Runningman I could not agree more. Do you think he will eventually get a degree and where would it be from? I think we should just drop the charade and open up leagues like are used for hockey in Canada and I think the US for kids who want to Perdue a career in basketball and forget about the idea of a mythical student athlete ideal. Personally I like kids who come to Fairfield to want to be hear to both play and get a degree. Is that such a revolutionary idea?
Greg Calixte leaving George Mason. As I recall, pretty heavily recruited by Coach Johnson. Pretty sure it was the same for Sam Iorio, who went to American, and then South Alabama.

Well I would like it if we could return to the 'good old days,' but of course that's not reality anymore. Personally though, I wouldn't be so quick to blame the kids who leave because that's the system they have been brought up in. There are exceptions of course and they should be applauded. In that regard Taj Benning should get special mention as a guy who has done what you would like, namely play and get a degree at Fairfield and nowhere else. But BTW concerning Flavors, according to an Oklahoma State website he is listed as a graduate transfer. Therefore he already has a degree (from I assume Ok. State) and should be applauded for that, should he not?
Nash, I didn’t mean to knock the kids. I just don’t like to see the hypocrisy of seeing what can happen in the goal of winning at all/any cost. If a kid puts a sport above everything, maybe Fairfield is not for him. I know I am being old fashioned but, man in my four years we had great teams and all the guys graduated in four years! I don’t think it is too much to ask. I think this trend to transferring on a whim will eventually ruin the game IMHO.
I thought Flavors graduated from Cal Baptist. Wasn't he a grad transfer to OK St. and the only reason he's eligible for a 5th season in 6 years (essentially a 2nd grad season) is Covid-19?

Flavors received his degree from Cal Baptist. He spent two years there after one year at Fairfield and one at a JUCO. I don't know if he studied for a Masters at Oklahoma State or what, but the reason he entered the portal again is because things didn't work out in Stillwater and he gets the COVID mulligan. As Nash said, he didn't create the system. I salute him for staying in school, even if it's his fifth one in six years.
