The passion and energy that Andrea Hernangomez has brought to the Fairfield University Women's Basketball team has not gone unnoticed as the junior forward was named the MAAC Sixth Player of the Year as voted upon the league's 11 head coaches. Hernangomez becomes the second Stag ever to win the award, joining Brittany MacFarlane in 2012. "I'm very proud of Andrea," Head Coach Joe Frager said. "She continues to bring great energy to our team and has improved her game."The presence in the paint for the Stags, she is averaging 6.1 points and 5.0 rebounds overall this season while shooting .380 from the floor. Along with Hernangomez's major award, eight Stags were named to the MAAC All-Academic team, tying Quinnipiac for the most selections in the conference.
