I happened to notice on the scroll on the bottom of the tv screen that the Manhattan women's basketball team lost a game yesterday and my first reaction was Huh? Did some googling and learned that Manhattan was in the WBI this year. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021_Women%27s_Basketball_InvitationalBut Fairfield beat Manhattan in this year's MAAC tourney and was the higher seed going into the tourney. Did Manhattan pay for the WBI on its own or did the MAAC help out? If the MAAC helped out, were we offered the opportunity first and turned it down? I don't consider this a huge issue as there are lots of additional issues involved during this Covid season but I was surprised to see Manhattan in a postseason tournament.

I would have to assume we turned it down. Not a great tourney, tough season with Covid. Really no reward playing in it.
