Naples I don’t have any interior pics but I can tell you the arena is almost completely ready to be opened. I was on campus yesterday for a VB match viewing the interior from beyond the construction fencing. The ribbon scoreboard was working, and the staffs were setting up the stag spirit shop and snack shops in the interior. The windows were being washed. It appears the stags club in the front of the building is furnished and ready to go. There is a bit more landscaping and grading needed at the area between the Mahoney center and the campus center, but it is minimal. Stags up!

One other item I forgot. A worker told me they were filling in the openings in the “stag in motion” with plastic inserts so it can be back lit at night and be more prominent.
They finished backlighting with the plastic inserts on the Stag in motion on the front of the building yesterday. Can't see the Stag in motion on back of the building but I assume the same? Hopefully they will do some lighting of the Leo D. Mahoney letters too. The Grand Opening is in 5 days on Friday at 10:00 am.

Considering the doubt not so long ago that this project could ever meet the projected timeline because of world problems with supplies and shipping, etc., quite frankly the fact we are here today and about to enter and enjoy this beautiful brand new building is remarkable, isn't it? Exciting times ahead for the Stags!

Outstanding point. Nothing gets completed on schedule these days, so having a massive project like this meet its timeline is a significant accomplishment. Congrats and thanks to all involved.

No, the holes in the back were not filled in with plastic. I think they need to stay open as ventilation for the HVAC. The Stag in Motion however could be lit up. We'll see soon enough.
Also noticed the lower seating on the cam this morning. The do appear a bit wider than I thought retractable seats would be. Hope its works out that way.

paulie, Makes sense but maybe the Stag in motion could be illuminated from above or below? Why go through all the trouble to install the Stag in motion at the rear of the building if it can't be seen at night, especially on game days?
Hopefully the University will install three large flag poles on the empty site of the NW corner for the American Flag, Connecticut State Flag or the two different Fairfield logo flags (Stag and red F) outside the arena? Not sure if flag poles were part of the original design but Centerbrook Architects also designed Quinnipiac's M & T Bank Arena where they included 3 large flag poles at the main entrance to the basketball/hockey arena. Probably not going to help win any games but I emailed Zach with my suggestion.
