They just mentioned that Currier is not with the team today. If they explained why I missed it Twitter says his son's wedding.

Good to see Signore bounce back from the Rider game. A solid 2 innings. If Stags hold on, I would assume, despite these announcers, that Cafaro would start tomorrow.

Could be, only 13 pitches. Or Grabeck, who started several mid-week games with success. He threw only 15 pitches.

ASU has to go to their bullpen after 2.1 in tonight's night cap.
Good for the Stags tomorrow.

ASU has to go to their bullpen after 2.1 in tonight's night cap. Good for the Stags tomorrow. Unless ASU has a hidden pitcher somewhere - I don't think they have much left that's any better than the typical MAAC guys. The hard part is that Fairfield is into the back of their rotation and I think ASU's hitters might have a little more pop. Not unwinnable. Guys will have to step up.

"I don't think we showed up to this tournament just to get our first Regional win," acting Head Coach Brian Fay said. "We came here to try and win a regional and that's definitely what we're still trying to do. I think the guys are excited and they're understanding of the moment but at the same time we expect to be here and we know we belong here." "It's great," Jake Noviello said. "Coming here out of high school you want to come into a winning program and that was something that was here. This was the next step for us. We have a great team this year with great camaraderie and great fight and I couldn't be happier to be a part of this team." Fay was the acting head coach today as Fairfield's head coach Bill Currier was attending his son's wedding in Vermont. Currier will be back tomorrow for Fairfield's next game.
Fairfield will survive and advance for another day and will meet the winner of the Texas and Arizona State matchup later on tonight. The Stags, along with Head Coach Bill Currier, will look for a spot in the Regional Final when they take the field on Sunday at 2pm EST.

No matter what happens today, winning an NCAA Tournament game was very important to kind of validate this historical season the Stag baseball team has had. So I would echo others here in congratulating them for their accomplishment. They will always be on the books as getting a MAAC victory for the league, something that doesn't happen very often over the years. And while they will again be underdogs in the repeat match-up today with ASU, certainly the fact that they gave the Sun Devils all they could handle on Friday should indicate that if things break their way they have a punchers chance of pulling the upset. Anyway, one more time, Go Stags!
