Not much love shown to the Stags volleyball team despite going 33-7 the last two seasons; making the NCAA tournament in 2019; and having one loss this past spring.
Given the success of several programs over the past few years (volleyball, field hockey, baseball - all getting to the NCAA tournament), let me throw out a hypothetical question.
What would you do to take the programs, or overall department, to the next level in the next four years?

Not much love shown to the Stags volleyball team despite going 33-7 the last two seasons; making the NCAA tournament in 2019; and having one loss this past spring. Given the success of several programs over the past few years (volleyball, field hockey, baseball - all getting to the NCAA tournament), let me throw out a hypothetical question. What would you do to take the programs, or overall department, to the next level in the next four years? I don’t know if the sports information department is seriously understaffed, but the fact that the first notification that our outstanding women’s volleyball program will be playing a tournament in Hawaii came from VA providing the link to Marquette’s schedule instead of from an announcement on our athletic website seems to indicate to me what needs to be addressed if we’re to reach the next level. The teams are doing their part by having outstanding seasons so it would seem to me the next step is generating excitement about the upcoming seasons for our teams. Having the naming of the volleyball captains be the most recent piece of information on our website concerning women’s volleyball when they’ll be playing in a tournament in Hawaii in a little over two months from now against nationally recognized programs wouldn’t seem to me to be the most effective way to build interest in our volleyball team. Why didn’t we have that tournament information on our website at least the same day that Marquette announced their entire schedule. By that time all the contracts must have been finalized for the Hawaii tournament or else Marquette wouldn’t have released that information. I realize rankings of colleges is rather subjective but it felt good to see Fairfield listed as the top women's volleyball college in collegefactual. www.collegefactual.com/rankings/sports/volleyball-women/division1/new-england/

Not surprising there is still nothing on the Stag website or social media about Stag Volleyball (the most successful Stag athletic program with 11 MAAC Championships and 11 NCAA appearances since 1997).
