SCOUTING REPORT Matt Bergevin is a 2019 HS Baseball Graduate Corner IF & OF prospect with a very BIG BAT. Matt attended Concordia Portland University who dropped their program and closed the school. Matt has 4 years of eligibility remaining. Matt is 6'3" 230 lbs and is still gaining strength. He hits and throws right handed. Known most for his bat, Matt has plus power potential now. He uses a big leg kick and is short & quick through the zone. The power is to all fields. Right now he's a doubles machine but can certainly go yard. Matt moves well for a big kid he runs a 7.1 - 60 yd dash. He is an excellent student with a 3.70 GPA at a strong academic school in Concordia. His leadership is without question, serving as H.S. Senior Class President, served as an ambassador for new students and ran the student section for all home HS games. Very outgoing and easy to talk with. Is working with Watus Copper on speed and also trains with Fast Athlete Performance. Played men's Backetball and swam as well as boxes for extracurricular. Not sure you will meet a better Potential Student Athlete. PERSONAL MESSAGE Hello prospective college coaches. My name is Matthew Bergevin and I am an athletic freshman with 32 transferable credits. I played at Concordia Portland last year for Rob Vance and started every game at either 1B or LF hitting 333 as a freshman before our season was stopped. Concordia Portland announced it's closure after this spring semester so I will be looking for a new home. I will have a 3.7-3.75 GPA, four years of college eligibility and I've started 17 games at the college level. I've left two references and my phone number below. Thank you for your consideration. evo.nsr-inc.com/prospect_detail?prospect_id=206579

www.azpreps365.com/articles/10246-matt-bergevin-resiliency-through-adversitySad story about his older sister Jillie, but it sure sounds like the Stags are getting a very high-quality young man in Matt Bergevin. He's from Tempe, Arizona (the home of Arizona State University), so I suspect he might have watched the Fairfield/ASU tourney games. Maybe they influenced his choice of Fairfield. Welcome aboard!
