Needed a separate thread anyway. And BTW, seems time to move Baseball into its own category and out of Other Sports.

Red Sox should've drafted him. He has a swing made for Fenway.

An article in the Cape Cod Times with information on what the Mets scout liked about Guerrera. capecodtimes-ma-app.newsmemory.com/?publink=3e353f433_1345e47...Guerrera, a rising senior who played shortstop at Fairfield University, was the NECBL leader in home runs (9) and runs batted in (26) when he was selected by the New York Mets in the 20th round July 13 on the third and final day of the draft. “He can hit and everyone is looking for hitters,” New York Mets scout John Kasciak said. “Hitting is pitch recognition, bat speed. It’s not one thing you’re looking for. He’s got good instincts, good hands. Sometimes the eyes don’t lie.”On the morning of July 16, Guerrera and college teammate Trey McLoughlin, an ex-NECBL player who was playing for Falmouth in the Cape Cod Baseball League this summer, flew out of Hartford to Port St. Lucie, Florida, the Mets minor league operations site. Kasciak, who covers New England, New York and New Jersey for the Mets, phoned Gulls general manager Chuck Paiva to talk to him about Guerrera. “I told Chuck I was sorry doing this to him,” Kasciak said. “It’s just been a weird year with how we had to scout. It’s really not fair to the players and the summer leagues.”...

McLoughlin is at Port St. Lucie (A-low).
Guerrera is raking at FCL and probably needs a promotion. Looks like they are trying to figure out what position he'll play. Games at SS, 2B, and RF.

0-1, 3BB, 2R in Justin's PSL debut last night.
It looks like there are 5 former Stags playing pro baseball: - McLaughlin - Guerrera - Tucker Nathans (playing Indy ball for the NY Boulders) - Jake Binder (started at FU, finished at Ithaca; playing in the Indy Pioneer Lg) - Austin Pope (playing High-A in the Diamondbacks farm system)

I think the PSL season is over. I don't know what come next for our "Mets."
Guerrera struggled right after his promotion, but finished on a pretty good roll. McLaughlin was plagued by the gopher ball and didn't have a ton of success over a small sample.
