Same as me, the long walk up the hill, through the preppies in their sport coats and ties, up to Xavier 52 years ago for Accounting 101 but when I couldn't get my Balance Sheet to balance, I knew that I would never be an accountant. Sorry Dad.

Was always disappointed that the athletic department “hijacked” Doc’s round table a few years back. Both Doc and JoeStag held honest/organic meetings that were informative and interactive. The last few under SJ (haven’t been a Jay one) seemed “produced”/company line.

It is a totally different event today. Now a fundraiser. Used to be just an intimate honest discussion among loyal fans.
Never been to a Doc’s Roundtable so cannot compare. But my experience with Jay is that he is as open and as forthcoming as any head coach would ever be. And if I recall the event from two seasons back, there is ample time to meet and speak with the coaching staff as well. Unfortunately cannot attend this event. Looking forward to some reports on the team.

Most of the rountable meetings were open discussions as you indicate , however I remember a bunch of meetings during the TOT era that were anything but an open discussions. Questions had to be submitted before the meeting.

That’s when the Athletic department became involved. Questions up front are good and bad-there is a potential for screening or whitewashing but there is a thoroughness aspect-during a live event, it’s easy to miss some topics and the presubmitted questions makes sure that doesn’t happen.
