Congrats to the VB team. Great accomplishment.
One quote above “the Leo was electric” and then the attendance per the box - 497 - seems contradictory. Is that paid or turnstile?

Not sure if it was paid or turnstile? However, if u were in attendance like me and paulie74 you absolutely felt the energy in the building.

Congrats to the VB team. Great accomplishment. One quote above “the Leo was electric” and then the attendance per the box - 497 - seems contradictory. Is that paid or turnstile? Student section in the west end zone was filled and vocal. The QU coach actually had to pull his team from the baseline while coaching on that end. When serving there was no doubt the player was distracted. It was a definite home court advantage. Keep in mind, half the lower bowl was closed and fans were not scattered but concentrated on the north side and west end zone of the arena. QU also had a decent crowd on hand. Unfortunately the tournament is at Siena next year with the low ceiling. The championship should not be held in these venues. Same with Quinnipiac where our regular season match had numerous hits bouncing off the ceiling shaking white flakes from the acoustic tile.

It's not how many, rather it is how loud and rockin' the home attendance is, especially among the students. Nicely done by the University to have FREE tickets this championship weekend for the Stag Students, especially on a NFL Sunday as it made a difference (regardless if the GIANTS and JETS stink this year). "Thank you to our students and all of the fans who came out to support us this weekend," said Somera. "They turned Mahoney Arena into the best volleyball atmosphere in the MAAC, and we look forward to seeing them all when we're back on our home court next season."Stag Volleyball was (11-2) at home this season and averaged 373 fans at Mahoney Arena. Hopefully even more will be done by the University next season to promote the most successful Fairfield Athletic program in history (13 NCAA bids) - Stag Volleyball. paulie and 74 are right, NCAA Women's Volleyball is a great sport to watch, support and to cheer for, especially Stag Volleyball on campus. Starting when my girls were very young, for years we would go to the weekend games in Alumni Hall and even a few away games. They both loved the non stop action and excitement. Sitting with and high fiving some of Dianne Nolan's players in AH plus a pre-game Super Duper Weenie tube steak meal never hurt either! If you haven't been to a Stag Volleyball game yet - like Mikey, Try it and you'll like it plus it's FREE and on campus in Mahoney Arena!
