Carly Thibault @ctbow
I have so much fun coaching these women. Not because of the 11 game win streak, but because of how they collectively compete and play for each other. If you havenโt come seen us play yet, you should show up to Mahoney Arena on Saturday!
Come run with the Stags๐ฆ๐ค๐ผ

Refs swallow you whistle, way too many fouls called against both teams.

Not a good 3Q. Coach has to get the stags back into rhythm during 4Q. Time for Brown to step up!

Stags 78-73 for the home win. WHEW and with a sloppy ending.Meghan Andersen with 23 points. Fairfield (W12) is now (14-1)(6-0 MAAC) and (7-0) at Mahoney Arena. "You expect a great game with Siena," Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "They're incredibly tough defensively and are going to make you work for every shot. I thought we got a little stagnant in the second half but I'm proud of how we found different ways to have it happen. Whether it was getting to the free throw line and we got some defensive stops. It wasn't pretty but I'm proud of us for being able to close out a tough game."Box Score attendance at 609. Box Scorefairfieldstags.com/sports/womens-basketball/stats/2023-24/siena/boxscore/13883The Stags will next take the court in Poughkeepsie, NY, to face Marist (4-11)(2-3 MAAC) on Saturday, January 20 at 4pm on ESPN+.

We escaped with a win today. Siena was the tougher team all 2nd half. We had a lot of turnovers and were destroyed on the glass. Thankfully Siena is an awful free throw shooting team. We needed to play a close game. A lot to learn from this one.

Officials just horrible. 53 fouls called in total. Ridiculous.

I thought game was over with 2.3 seconds to go and us up 5. But Siena ran a sucker out of bounds play to draw foul and we fell for it. Need to be smarter in that situation.

Good teams win the tough ones. The ones where you don't play great. The ones where things don't go your way. They aren't all going to be easy.
12 wins in a row. 14-1 (6-0).
I'll take it.

Just got to watch the game on replay on ESPN + couldn't make it live today. Great second part of the first half just played outstanding, and then a total mess of a 3rd quarter and a 4th quarter with a lot of free throws we made. A 8-0 run Siena, 7-0 run by us, then another 8-0 run by Siena to start the second half. Anderson was huge offensively in second half, Brown made a lot of free throws. Not sure if anyone else scored other than those two in the second half. We got outrebounded by 10 for the game. Lots to work on, a week to rest and figure it out, congrats to the team for hanging on against a good Siena team.

It will be interesting to see the return match ups in the MAAC. Do teams start to figure out Fairfield or do the Stags figure them out?

The good teams win the close games and the crappy teams advertise the number of loses by three points or less like it is a badge of honor. The stags are a good team . They will face other obstacles like yesterday as the season moves on. Letโs hope they can overcome! Go stags!
