I think Princeton will fall out too. Not sure that we'll jump them, though. We'll know soon.

I was wrong about Princeton. They fell precipitously. So Fairfield is next up, likely one week away from cracking the Top 25. Just take care of business this week against Quinnipiac and Manhattan.

So was I. Very surprised they dropped so far. Good for the Stags. A week from now we should have a Top 25 team

There are 35 voters who submit their top 25. A #1 ranking is worth 25 points, a #2 ranking is worth 24 points and it continues that way all the way down to a #25 ranking being 1 point. I assume the Stags could have been left off a couple of ballots, and some probably just have them as the #25 team, so for the Stags to have 49 points, it's reasonable to assume they're as high as #21 or #22 on a couple of ballots. Last week they only had 29 points, so they've moved up a cumulative 20 spots across 35 ballots. "move up" could also include the one point from going to not be ranked, to #25 on someone's ballot. At this point, to have 49 points on 35 ballots, there can't be many voters left who don't have them on at all. It would take a real bad week for anybody but UNLV or West Virginia to drop out of the top 25 this week. Another thing to keep in mind is that all the P6 conferences finish their regular seasons this week. Next week during conference tournament week, some teams should fall.

I know we play in a small conference that doesn't come close to the Big 12, but it is still surprising that West Virginia could go into the week at #22 lose two games, and come back at #24. Let the doubters keep doubting I guess.

I know we play in a small conference that doesn't come close to the Big 12, but it is still surprising that West Virginia could go into the week at #22 lose two games, and come back at #24. Let the doubters keep doubting I guess. Well, I am pleasantly surprised at the number of votes we got, I expected us to be 26 but did not think we would get up to 49 votes. That's really positive as it means many voters have included us on their ballets. I can't believe anyone voted us higher than 22 so that means a lot of people have us at 24 or 25. I agree, I would have thought West Virigina gets less votes than they got following two losses but given that both were to ranked teams I guess they got to slide. One more loss though and they are done. I also feel Oklahoma is on the fringe, vulnerable with a loss. As is UNLV. Here are the games this week that could affect a team remaining in the top 25. The games Bold/Red are the ones that I feel have the biggest chance of changing the landscape. TuesdayNo. 23 Creighton (22-4) vs. Xavier (1-24), 7 p.m. No. 24 West Virginia (22-5) at Oklahoma St. (13-14), 7:30 p.m. WednesdayNo. 24 UNLV (24-2) vs. Boise St. (19-9), 9:30 p.m.ThursdayNo. 22 Louisville (22-7) vs. Florida St. (20-8), 8 p.m. SaturdayNo. 20 Oklahoma (20-7) at Kansas (16-11), 5 p.m. No. 24 West Virginia (22-5) vs. TCU (18-9), 1 p.m. No. 24 UNLV (24-2) vs. San Diego St. (18-10), 5 p.m.SundayNo. 17 Notre Dame (21-6) vs. No. 22 Louisville (22-7), 2 p.m.

That should seal it if we win both games this week.

The women need to win both this weekend. If they do I think they have an excellent chance to see their name in lights. Its not easy, in any conference to run the table.

I believe on the AP poll page you can choose to see each voter's selections.

A lot of the National sources (ESPN, NBC Sports, USA Today) leave us off. God forbid the Hartford Courant writer ranks us. I think this is finally the week where if we go 2-0 we can’t be ignored.

The AD and SID have to be in communication with all voters emails / calls / tweets. ESPN writers and personnel need to be invited down from Bristol.
