SPC is nearly the worst 3 point shooting team in the MAAC. Randolph only averages 6 ppg and has hit four 3's today. Have to think the Peacocks will regress to their mean.
W's don't come much uglier than this, but we'll take it. After a very efficient start to the second half and taking a 50-48 lead, Stags lost all offensive flow and never really got it back. Did not take advantage of a 6+ minute SPC drought. I really thought Leach needed far more touches. Defensively, once the intensity picked up, we were terrific from the 5 minute mark in the first half to the finish. Should have won this game handily, as it appeared would happen after going up 9 with just under 4 minutes to play.
"There's no excuses in this part of the MAAC schedule," said Interim Head Coach Chris Casey. "Everybody is grinding, everybody is banged up. And I'm proud of our guys for staying focused and fighting through all of that to come away with another tough road win."
A win is a win! But work on inbounding and stop getting trapped on sidelines. But give St P’s credit for really putting pressure on us.Jasper didn’t play as clean as he has in recent games.
Yeah. It's hard to understand how he can be that bad. Needs to work on his form and maybe some of it is mental. Casey is definitely giving him some leeway to make mistakes (which is good), but I also feel like he's kind of hard on himself. I believe he's getting there, it's just a process.
That being said... he had a nice overall game and was productive. I thought that foul at the end against JJJ should've been a no-call and easily could've been a hook on the SPU player. I do blame Casey for not having someone better in to take those final FTs.
