^ There had to be some reason why the Manhattan at Iona game was chosen before the season started but the other games are selected a couple of weeks before they air. Not sure that Tellitocci would explain the reasoning for that decision.
In the past this has been a raucous atmosphere as it's probably the conference's best rivalry. But crappy year for it this year with Manhattan being beyond bad
Why a low-to mid-level league like the MAAC would not plan in the off-season schedule making to showcase the premier basketball facility in its league is beyond my understanding in Year 2.

EXACTLY. Who is in charge? Is it getting any better?

Well next year you can bet Tellitocci will be looking for a game or two at the Mahoney. We/they (whoever puts together the schedule) need to schedule a couple home games next year in late February against teams expected to be in top half of MAAC. The late Feb schedule worked against us showcasing the Mahoney this year.

… and guess who answered my email. ESPN chose the Iona/Manhattan game on 2/16 rather then Niagara at FF on the same date.
“ I agree that Mahoney Arena is a beautiful venue, and we would love to showcase it on ESPNU. However, the TV windows, matchups and Fairfield's schedule have not aligned this season.
For informational purposes, ESPN confirms the linear television windows for the men's and women's basketball season in October. Unfortunately, we receive the TV windows after the men's and women's basketball schedules have been completed. Only one (1) of the television windows up to this point in the season matched up with a Fairfield home game. That window (Friday,February 16) was the game that was selected prior to the start of the season (Manhattan at Iona) and not part of the Wild Card games.
ESPN and the Conference office work to select the best matchup for the Wild Card games. Marist at Niagara (January 26), Fairfield at Quinnipiac (February 23) and Fairfield at Marist (March 1) were the best Wild Card matchups identified. Fairfield was on the road or had a bye on all three of those dates.
I hope that provides some clarification to your question.
Thanks, Travis

Am I wrong in thinking that it was not too long ago when MAAC Friday night games on ESPNU began in mid-January and lasted through the end of the regular season? Certainly more contests to present would make the odds a lot better that Fairfield with their nice new Mahoney Arena would be featured at least one time.
Fanta interviews Marist head coach Dunne to preview Friday’s 7pm game. Fanta points out that Marist’s top 3 scorers are all in their first season at Marist. Allen transferred in from San Jose State and Pascarelli and Collins are true freshmen. Dunne in recruiting Pascarelli thought he’d probably have to redshirt him due to Pascarelli’s youth; but after the first week of practice came to realize Pascarelli might end up starting.
And Fanta’s 9+ minute interview with Casey which was recorded on Monday.

I guess I'm in the minority or just don't understand - what difference does it make whether ESPN shows a home Fairfield game or road Fairfield game? Flipping through channels, I choose the game I want to watch - not which home team has the nicest playing venue. Who cares?
What really matters is the great game vs Quinnipiac and even better victory for Fairfield to carry forward. Viewers will remember Fairfield playing a great game, not the Quinnipiac Venue they saw on TV.

Of course that's the most important thing and obviously takes precedence. But that said, having a new venue to show off and not even getting shown to the public (except on ESPN +) is sort of a slap in the face to the program, especially if the team is good and worth watching. That's why now as I read another thread, apparently the problem has been corrected, and I for one am excited about that.
