Fairfield slept through this contest but still won handily. Stags are going to need to play much better after they reach AC and any games that might come beyond AC.

Yeah that’s my take , not very sharp tonight but good enough to beat just an average QU team. Tougher game coming up on the road vs the Jaspers. Stags up!

"It's a testament to how we prepare every single day," Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "We have a lot of big goals and I think a lot of people thought we were crazy coming in with some of the goals but it's the same thing as winning the regular season championship. You have to be good every single day. This league is tough and we've played a lot of good opponents and to get to 25 wins with more games to play is special."Box score has 1,117 at the game in Mahoney Arena. Box Scorefairfieldstags.com/boxscore.aspx?path=wbball&id=13894The Fairfield defense held Quinnipiac to just 28 percent shooting, the 10th time this season they held an opponent to under 30 percent shooting. It also marked the 11th time the Stags held a foe to fewer than 50 points. Meghan Andersen was one of the leaders on the defensive end, swatting five blocked shots and also leading the team with three steals and tying a team-high with seven rebounds. She also helped put pressure on Quinnipiac's leading scorer Anna Foley who went 3-for-16 from the field. The #1 Stags (25-1)(17-0 MAAC) will next hit the road for Riverdale, N.Y., to face #4 Manhattan (17-9)(10-7 MAAC) on Saturday at 2pm with the game available on ESPN+.

At 25-1, think it is fair to now ask: where does this Fairfield squad rank in terms of the greatest teams in MAAC wone's basketball history?
The MAAC women's record for wins in a season is 32, set by Marist (32-3) in 2007-08. With only three games left in regulation, Fairfield won't be able to get to 32 wins unless its win a game in the NCAA tournament.
Other MAAC women's teams to win 30 games: 2010-11 Marist (31-3) and 2014=15 Quinnipiac (31-4).

Haven’t followed MAAC women’s basketball closely through the years but I would look at the nonconference schedules of those Marist and Quinnipiac teams to see if they played a Big East, Big Ten, and SEC team as this Fairfield team has.

Took care of business, lets get the next 6, 3 regular season and 3 MAAC games and be champs! After sitting near enough to the Quinn bench and hearing their coach, I must say how happy I am to have CTD at the helm here. Alum or not, pretty unclassy.

That's the bar for great women's seasons in MAAC history.
