The FREE video feed and sound was no where need the quality of the Stony Brook game as it was too far away and too high from the field most of the time but 693 fans were at the game in Hartford.
For the second time this season Nikki Stanton found Ashley Small and this tally, with 76 seconds remaining in regulation, gave the Fairfield University women's soccer team a 2- victory. The win is the Stags first of the season, 1-3, while the Hawks fall to 1-1-2 on the year.
The Stags outshot the Hawks 7-1 in the second-half, and 13-5 for the game, but it was the final shot of the game that proved to be the decisive tally. Stanton fed the ball across the box to the foot of Small, who pushed it into the side netting from 10-yards out
The Stags are off until the Fairfield Women's Soccer Invitational, September 13-15 on Lessing Field. The Stags take on America at 7 p.m. on September 13th following a 4 p.m. match-up between Hartford and Holy Cross. On September 15th American and Hartford meet at 11 a.m. while the Stags take on the Crusaders at 2 p.m.
